The Hyundai Tucson is a compact crossover that goes by the name of ix35 in some markets and is speculated to arrive in the Indian market soon. The latest iteration of the Tucson SUV is the original exponent of the Korean company’s new design signature and has already created quite a scuffle in the international markets for its stylish looks alone.
Under the hood, expect to see a 2.4-litre MPi engine that is able to put out 176PS of max power. The said engine could come mated to either a 6-Speed automatic transmission or a 5-Speed manual transmission. Company claimed mileage is 10 kmpl. The SUV features an electric 4-wheel drive mechanism that is able to judge the road surface, wheel speed and the acceleration and accordingly, distributes the force to the front and rear wheels. Hyundai claims that the new Tucson SUV will boast of very low NVH levels.
According to reports, the Hyundai Tucson SUV could be launched in India in early 2014 with a sticker price ranging between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. Once here, the SUV will go up against the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and the Renault Duster SUV.
