2015 Honda VFR800X launched for UK market
Snapshot: New Honda gets a revised 800cc V4 engine. The changes are made to generate more high end power and mid range torque.
The all new 2015 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner was today annouced for UK markets. Coined as a premium adventure sports tourer, new Honda gets a revised 800cc V4 engine. The changes are made to generate more high end power and mid range torque. Not only does it look sharper, the travel suspensions are longer now and new wheels and brakes are also added.
Although at the heart is the same VTEC-equipped 90° V4 DOHC 16 valve engine, but the power is increased to 78 kW @10,250 RPM. Other added features includes self-cancelling indicators, Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system, heated grips as standard, ABS and LED lights.
Adding to its off-roader abilities is the new adjustable seat offering two height options. The rider now also benefits from the same kind of Selectable Torque Control System (S-TCS) fitted to the Crosstourer. Two levels of S-TCS are available to sense imminent loss of rear wheel traction which seamlessly reduce torque to allow the tyre to grip.
The structure now has more lighter Aluminium subframe and swingarm. Tyres are 180 rear for optimal on-road performance and 120 front for grip. The 2015 VFR800X will be available through Honda UK Motorcycle dealers from early December and it will be showcased in the UK at Motorcycle Live between 22nd and 30th November 2014.
We hope to see this brilliant offroader soon in India. You can read about the other Honda VFR here.
