2016 Harley-Davidson portfolio for India going Darker, more Powerful and more Comfortable!

News is coming in from Harley-Davidson that they have upgraded the famous Street 750, Forty-Eight and the Iron 883 for India and the changes include what they are calling Dark Custom treatment, as per Harley Davidson, the bikes are now more powerful and 'darker' in intent. The highlight of the updates include new suspension setups, design changes and powerful engines.

As per the legendary American company, the new Iron 883 and the Forty-Eight have been given a modern redesign keeping its old world rebellious spirit intact. The bikes now feature new design for the suspension aimed to make the ride even more smooth and plush for the Harley owners. The updates has also landed the entire Softail line-up with the High Output Twin Cam 103 from the larger and powerful Harley Davidson cruising models. the new model year also sees the return of the  iconic Roadking.

The new Iron 883, known traditionally for its  raw and rough around the edges design philosophy, that is inspired by modern design garage-built bobbers from past and present. The 883 now features an all-new front suspension alongwith a new adjustable rear suspension. Furthermore, the new 883 is benefitting from an addition of mag wheels which are lighter and there is improved seating also that is said to increase comfort and control.

On the other hand, the new Forty-Eight carries on with its old school menacing charm while getting a burly front tire, new set of mag wheels now adorn the bike and so does a massive front end with new 49mm forks. The 2016 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight also benefits from improved adjustable rear suspension and seating, as per the company. For the new model year update, Harley Davidson has not forgotten there big seller in India, the Street 750, which gets new front and rear braking updates, a field where the present bike has received quite a bit of flack in the international media.

Its not all for the update shower form Harley Davidson on its model range, the 2016 range of Sportster models are getting a completely new front and rear suspension setup alongwith improvement in seating increasing rider comfort and control. As per the company, the new seats on the Sportster range is made from premium materials and the revised shape of the seats provide more support and comfort than the current model. Also, the re-designed Sportster suspension consist of emulsion coil-over shocks with new front cartridge forks. The rear suspension is taken care by Nitrogen gas-charged shocks that resist oil aeration and feature an internal valve stack with 36mm pistons and high-performance oil to provide superior compression and rebound damping control. Such technology enables the new suspension on the bikes to be able to  react quickly to small bumps and helps in keeping the tires in contact on uneven road surfaces.

The most welcoming news form the model update is coming for the fans of the wonderful Softail line-up of bikes such as the Softail performance and the Heritage Softail Classic,  which the slated to get the High Output Twin Cam 103 powertrain for the model year 2016. The bikes also get refreshed styling alongwith standard electronic cruise control, and to add it all there is all new and improved saddlebag support structure.

Speaking about the news, Pallavi Singh, Director Marketing for Harley Davidson India has said, “This is another historic year for Harley-Davidson. We’re raising the bar on Dark Custom motorcycles with the new Iron 883, Forty-Eight and Street 750, the purest expression of the design. And we’re extending our lead in touring with the return of the Road King and redesign of the popular Heritage Softail Classic.”
