5 equipments that should come standard in a car

Snapshot: We have compiled a list of 5 essential features that should come as standard in all the cars.

With the growing disposable income, Indians are purchasing more and more cars, and with every passing day, the ratio of the number of people per car is decreasing. This is why India is on the radar of the majority of car manufacturers across the globe and many of them are about to enter India in the coming days.

As much as this is boon for India, as the choices for the consumers is increasing, manufacturers try to cut some basic equipments to reduce the cost. While it is not the fault of the manufacturers as customers are the one who are now willing to pay for these equipments, we have analyzed that a couple of stuff should come as standard in every car.

Here's our list of 5 equipments that should come as standard in every car!

1. Power Windows

Power windows has become a necessity today and nobody likes to roll down windows anymore. Still, there are a couple of manufacturers who don't offer the power windows as standard. Some of them offer the power windows only on the front doors and not the rear ones. Our take is that power window is a must in any car.

2. Airbags

Now this is one area where all the manufacturers, and if not manufacturers, the government has to come out strict. Safety should be an utmost criteria for a country like India, which accounts for the most number of road accident deaths. Still, manufacturers don't provide airbags as an option in some of their cars, let alone as standard. Over the last year, because of the government crack down, manufacturers have started installing airbags and we appreciate the Toyota's move to offer standard airbags, no matter what car and what variant. We also urge other car makers to follow Toyota's footsteps.

3. Central Locking

Central Locking connects all the four doors and helps you lock and unlock them at one go. This is a very important feature considering the safety of the car and also is the first step to get a remote locking in the car. Some base models don't get central locking as standard and one needs to get it done aftermarket.

4. Parking Sensors

Parking sensors make a lot of sense when it comes to preventing any sort of misshapen while doing the reverse parking. Rear sensors are very essential and so are the front sensors. Now this could be a very subjective choice, but we feel that most of the accidents take place while a person is reversing a car or doing parallel parking in tight spots.

5. Multi Function Display

A multi-function display provides necessary information like distance to empty, distance travelled, mileage and trip meter. Now this is a very crucial set of information that could help a driver. And it doesn't cost that much too. We feel that this technology should come as standard in all the cars.
