Tata Motors has had a complete gear shift in the past couple of years, thanks to its HorizonNext design philosophy. Be it the successful Tata Tiago hatchback or be it the upcoming cars including the Hexa SUV and the Kite 5 compact sedan. The products from the stable of the largest Indian conglomerate have started to show merit and the buyers are acknowledging the effort from Tata.
The latest product to join the list will be the Hexa SUV, which will be launched in a week's time from now. So what makes this new product from Tata a special one, we decided to decode in our feature story - All you need to know about the Tata Hexa SUV!
Tata Hexa is a crossover based on the previous generation ARIA SUV, which, inspite of being a capable product, didn't receive much attention from the audience. Well, the Tata Hexa aims to turn the table now with a refreshed and botched up looks. Much like the Hexa shown at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, the production spec Hexa retains its familiar looks, but with noticeable changes all around.
The aggressive front look and proper SUV like stance give it a very intimidating appeal. There's stylish projector headlamps, massive honeycomb mesh grille and bumper with skid plates. Massive wheel arches, blackened B, C and D pillars, body cladding, dual exhaust tips, side step, LED DRLs and tail light are some of the highlight features of the Hexa crossover.
Cabin, Features and Safety
While we were quite happy with the premium cabin of the Tata Aria, the Tata Hexa is at a completely different level. There's no SUV, or even any other car in this segment or a segment above to offer a Drive Mode feature, that is purely functional and offers a great range of abilities to the SUV. There are 4 modes on offer and we decode functions of each-
Auto Mode – Tata Hexa’s performance is optimized automatically according to all surface conditions. Auto Mode provides a confident and reassuring drive, regardless of the surface or the kind of driver.

It will all come down to the pricing of the Tata Hexa, as we already know that the SUV is a capable off-roader and has an extensive set of features. If rumors are to be believed, Tata will keep the pricing of the Tata Hexa well below Rs 15 lakhs, with the base version starting around Rs 12 lakhs and the top of the line AWD, AT version priced close to Rs 15 lakhs. With this pricing Tata Hexa can easily take down Mahindra XUV 500, Renault Duster AWD, but will create a dent in the sales of its very own Safari Storme.
