Auto enthusiasts in India are waiting for the Auto Expo which is held every two years (biennial). The transfer of enthusiasm comes from the Big Five prestigious Auto Shows held in Detroit, Geneva, Frankfurt, Tokyo, and Paris.
The Auto Expo 1986 marked the beginning of showcasing India’s technological advancements and capabilities of carrying out research & development in the automotive sector and implementing new technologies in indigenous products.
The 14th Edition of the Auto Expo was held in 2018 while the dates for the 15th Edition are finalized and it will be held from February 6 to February 12, 2020, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. It has been organized by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and has been accredited by Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA).
The MG brand has performed really well in 2019 and hence 2 more Chinese brands will be making their debut at the Auto Expo 2020. Great Wall Motors (GWM) Haval and First Automobile Works (FAW) Haima Automobiles will be the two new players in the Indian market.
The already popular brands such as Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Skoda Auto, Volkswagen India, Hyundai, Renault India, and Kia Motors India will also showcase their latest and upcoming models.
The transition from BS4 to BS6 and the latest innovations along with the competing features provided by the manufactures make the Auto Expo 2020 a great platform for the pre- sale’s traction in the Indian market. An auto enthusiast is all geared up to experience the platter of the futuristic and technological showcase.
Tata Motors is presenting the facelifted versions of their best-selling models – Tata Nexon, Tata Tiago, and Tata Tigor.
Maruti Suzuki will be giving a new look to its Wagon R and the Vitara Brezza. Vitara will also get additional seating options with the introduction of the petrol engine.
Mahindra & Mahindra is also upgrading the product line up and making the popular models attractive with the latest features, this includes Scorpio, Thar, XUV500, TUV300, TUV300 plus and Bolero.
Skoda will also upgrade its best-selling models such as the Superb sedan while the Karoq SUV will also be unveiled at the event.
Hyundai Motor India will introduce its next generation of the most successful models Creta and Elite i20. The other popular Hyundai models Verna and Tucson are also going to get a facelift in 2020 and the same will be displayed in the Auto Expo 2020.
Volkswagen India: The 2020 strategy for the brand is to introduce a line up of SUVs in the market. The successful model Tiguan will be available with an extended wheelbase and will be called the Tiguan AllSpace with two extra seats for more comfort and convenience in the family car with 7 seating.
Renault India will launch a new model in the SUV segment which is codenamed as the Renault HBC. The New Duster launched in 2019 will also be showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.
Along with the technological advancements and the top of the line features, the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the cars is also something that consumers are looking forward to the experience.
The Green Revolution has brought about a positive change in the demand for electric vehicles. Many corporate houses are opting for electric alternatives and are also providing charging facilities for their employees.
