The AutoExpo 2016 is about to kick-start and will bring along a whole new range of motorcycles and scooters with it. In this article we are going to talk about some of the highly awaited commuters that will shake up the things at the AutoExpo this year. Though there are some major brands that have backed out from the show already but rest of the manufactures has aligned some of their highly awaited products for this year’s AutoExpo.
The scooter market of India is on continuous boom. Hero is one big brand with majority of two-wheelers shares in this market. Hero not only manufactures high in demand motorcycles like Splendor but also India’s second most selling scooter, the Hero Maestro Edge. In this year’s Expo, Hero is getting ready to come up with their whole new power scooter, the ZIR 150. With this Hero will jump into the slowly expanding market of ‘power scooters’ in India and it will compete majorly with the likes of Vespa.
Suzuki Hayate EP
The new Hayate EP carries quite a few changes like longer seat, a whole new diamond frame, maintenance-free battery, tubeless tyres and a 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber and of course the new colours to go with. As Suzuki says, the new Hayate EP is powered with the SEP technology which means that it uses Suzuki Super Sleek Piston, high-ignition spark plug and low friction cylinder & piston rings, which makes the motorcycle lighter, faster and also aids in improved combustion.
Suzuki Gixxer Double Discs
If there is one motorcycle in this list that needs no introduction then it is the one and only Gixxer 150. This motorcycle took the market by storm when launched and it is in fact the strongest contender in its segment right now. The Japanese auto maker was caught testing the double disc variant last year and we are confident that it will make way to the AutoExpo this year (with a slightly higher price tag than the standard single Disc Gixxer 150.)
TVS Victor 110
The Hosur based two-wheeler manufacturing firm has already resurrected the Victor brand with the launch of the new Victor 110. It promises to be a solid looking commuter and also the company has claimed that it delivers and outstanding 76 kmpl of mileage. It is also a good looking proposition but only time will tell if the resurrection actually worked out or not as we can’t deny the fact that Indian market is one of the most competitive markets for commuters.
HMSI started off the 2016 by wishing a ‘Happy NAVI’ year indicating the launch of a new model. The Japanese auto maker have up its sleeves to launch a brand new commuter in the Indian market which will make way at the upcoming AutoExpo. NAVI –Revolutionary ‘new kind of ride’ for youth ‘full of unlimited possibilities’ makes Indian debut at Auto expo, says Honda. We are not sure if NAVI is a motorcycle or a scooter.
Honda EV-Cub Concept
If you are going to the Expo we recommend don’t miss Honda’s EV-Cub Concept. It is one good looking environment friendly solution for the future mobility. It was showcased earlier at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 and now will turn heads at the AutoExpo. It has the its battery positioned low at the centre, making it easy to mount and remove and also aids to low centre of gravity of the model.
Hero Splendor iSmart 2016
With ET instrument cluster, good looks and brilliant fuel economy, the 2016 Splendor iSmart is one slightly updated Splendor. We expect the bike to be price around Rs. 57,000- Rs 59,000/.
