Can Forza 125 end the dominance of the Activa in India?
Snapshot: Honda recently unveiled its high performance scooter, the Forza 125 at the Paris Motor Show.
Strangely enough, the dependency of us Indians on the Honda Activa, for a gearless two wheeler is way too much. Speaking in terms of facts, Activa is the largest selling 2 wheel across any segment in India and thanks to Activa, India is the largest two wheeler market for Honda across the globe. Despite all this, Honda's appetite is growing day by day and to fulfill this, Honda recently unveiled its high performance scooter, the Forza 125 at the Paris Motor Show.
Honda is promising to provide the comfort of the larger capacity scooters, Grand Touring (GT) ability to ride on the highways, riding and parking ability on the streets of the small scooters and acceleration like none other. That, infact, are a lot of abilities infused in a single machine, and if Forza125 can deliver promised, it can definitely rattle the market of not only Honda Activa, but many other motorcycles also.
The scooter is practical and feature rich with a massive storage capacity of 48-litres, which is enough to house 2 full face helmets. The scooter comes with an LCD display that shows all necessary information including fuel gauge, average fuel economy, section fuel economy, trip meters, odometer, and coolant temperature.
As the name suggests, the Forza 125 will have a 125cc 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine producing 14.08 BHP of power and 12 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT transmission. The Forza will get alloy wheels packed with disc brakes both at the front and the rear, with the ABS as standard. Honda is claiming the efficiency of the scooter to be 43.5 km/l and will have a 11.5-litre fuel tank.
In terms of looks, the Foraz will have slim exterior, sporty stance and aggressive lines, to stand out in the crowd. Both the front and the rear lights will be LEDs and the windshield can be adjusted to suit highway and city riding conditions. Forza will be available in three colour options, namely Matt Pearl Cool White with Matt Pacific Blue; Pearl Nightstar Black with Castagna Brown; Moondust Silver with Matt Cynos Grey.
Prices have not been revealed yet, but all these features mentioned will definitely come at a price. We suppose, Honda will strip down the Forza to reduce the price here in India, although, the entry to India can be pretty late.
