Last year, we witnessed a plethora of new car launches in the Indian market and there's no stopping to that even after moving into 2019. Carmakers, with all guns blazing, are ready to unleash a flurry of new products, ranging from hatchbacks to sedans to SUVs. However, unlike 2018, this time around, we will have more than a couple of new automakers foray into India and introduce their first product. So, we have compiled a list of all the confirmed upcoming car models 2019 with launch dates that are going to hit the Indian roads in Q2 (April to June) of the year.

1. MG Hector

MG Motor, after grabbing all the eyeballs and amidst much hullabaloo, will finally be entering the Indian market with the MG Hector SUV in May 2019. First things first, the Hector is the redesigned version of the China-based carmaker's Baojun 530 with a lot of homologation and engineering. Having said that, it will be developed at SAIC's production facility in Halol, Gujarat with local content up to 75 percent. MG Hector will be bigger in dimensions than the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson while equipped with several first-in-segment comfort and safety features. The MG Hector specifications will include both petrol and diesel fuel trims with 1.5L turbo and Fiat-sourced 2.0L engines, respectively. The power trains will be offered with manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Expect the MG Hector price in India to be starting under Rs. 20 Lakh (Ex-Showroom).

2. Hyundai Qxi

It would not be an understatement if Hyundai Qxi 2019 is termed as the biggest launch of the year as the folks in India have been waiting for it for past three years. Their patience is going to end soon as the company has almost zeroed down on a May 2019 launch. The first sub-compact SUV from the South-Korean automaker had its world premiere at the 2016 Auto Expo as Carlino Concept. Fondly addressed in media as 'Baby Creta', it will take designing cues from the bigger sibling in terms of silhouette and tail-lamp cluster. The main highlight of the Hyundai Qxi SUV specifications will have a new 1.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a dual-clutch automatic transmission in India. Alongside, a 1.4L petrol engine will also be in offing in the lower variants. The diesel variants will get a new BS-VI compliant 1.5L motor, which will also be at the helm of Verna Facelift, scheduled to be launched later in the year. Sources indicate that 'Hyundai Styx' could be the official name for the SUV when it is finally launched and the approx Hyundai Qxi price in India is expected to be Rs. 7 - 11 Lakh (Ex-Showroom).

3. Kia SP

Kia had robbed the limelight from almost every other automaker present at the 2018 Auto Expo when it presented a star-studded vehicle line-up at the biennial event. The Kia SP, in its concept avatar, was particularly applauded by the auto pundits and aficionados. Now, the company has announced the Kia SP compact SUV launch in June 2019 in the Indian market with the production version apparently making world premiere at the New York Auto Show in April. From what we have learnt so far, Kia SP features would include a huge touchscreen infotainment system, first-in-segment digital instrument cluster and dual-tone colour scheme. Mechanically, the Kia SP Specifications will be in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with a choice of manual as well as automatic transmissions. Rumours are also rife about the introduction of a mild plug-in-hybrid system. As for the Kia SP price in India, it would be available between Rs. 10 - 16 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) while giving Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks a run for their money.

4. Skoda Karoq

The Czech manufacturer, with limited success in India till date, has been desperate to make its mark in the automotive arena in the country. And, in that quest, it is vouching high on SUVs, as they are the current talk of the town and flavour of the season among millennial in India. Hence, the company has decided to introduce the Skoda Karoq SUV in the Indian market in the next couple of months with high localization at the Aurangabad facility which it shares with Volkswagen and Audi. Underpinning the MQB architecture, the upcoming Skoda Karoq is a potential successor to the Yeti, which was a peculiar product among the classes. With exorbitant appearance, avant-garde interior and impeccable engines, Skoda Karoq price in India is believed to be in the domain of Rs. 20-25 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom). Engine options might be a 1.5L turbocharged petrol, BS-VI 1.6L diesel and a 2.0L diesel engines with both manual and auto gearboxes. Though, nothing can be confirmed yet as Skoda has been extremely tight-lipped regarding the developments.

5. Audi Q8

No exaggeration in coining Audi Q8 SUV as 'The Next Big Thing' hitting the Indian shores. Rightly because, it is the new flagship SUV for the brand with four rings and it takes the opulence to an all-new level altogether. The Audi Q8 Concept debuted at the 2017 North American International Auto Show while the production version was officially unveiled last year. Although sales have commenced in select European countries, India is yet to get this beast of an SUV, and we can confirm that it will be launched in the coming couple of months in the country. Audi Q8 will be gigantic in size and will be packed with almost every advanced and exquisite feature seen on high-end luxury SUVs such as Range Rover Autobiography SV and BMW X7, who are also its foes. Under the hood, the Audi Q8 specifications will have a 3.0L V6 turbocharged motor at the helm of affairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the Quattro AWD system and the Audi Q8 price in India will be in excess of Rs. 1 Crore (Ex-Showroom).
