The exteriors of Renault Duster are well-done from every angle. The front as been carved out well with bold character lines that continues to the side and rear part of the car. The door handles and ORVMs in the top end variant have been given chrome finish to add a little style, while the ORVMs also comprise of turn indicators. The headlight cluster on the front is big and fits in high intensity halogen lamps to ensure clear view of the road. The pair of fog lamps is shaped nicely to augment the appearance of the front profile. The AWD version of Duster comes with alloy wheels and gun metal grey color theme. The rear has large windscreen with high mounted stop lamp and curvy tail lights.

Honda Mobilio has a fine structure, which is pleasing to the eyes. The car comes with halogen headlamps, just like Duster on the front accompanied by chrome finished radiator grille and pair of fog lamps. The bumper has chrome dipped Honda Logo and a few character lines gracing the bonnet. The side comes with body colored ORVMs and door handles fitted with turn indicators in the rear view mirrors. The alloy wheels can be found in the top end trim. The rear is smart and has cute looking tail lights and defogger with rear wiper and washer. The high mounted stop lamp is also present. The tail gate is quite decent in size with chrome accents to finish off the look well.

Renault Duster Vs Honda Mobilio (Interiors and Features)

Renault Duster has comfortable interiors, which make the drive pretty enjoyable for all occupants. the base variant have been provided with front power windows, illuminated switches, keyless entry, power steering wheel with tilt adjustment, rear center armrest with cup holders and foldable rear seat. The mid-range variant has been also incorporated with on-board trip computer, rear power windows, reading lamps, audio controls on steering wheel and manual HVAC with pollen filter. Furthermore, the high-class multimedia player has Bluetooth connectivity, Aux-in and USB support. Cruise control in the SUV ensures superb handling without any problem. The height adjustable driver’s seat and smart digital instrument cluster can be seen in the top end variant.

Honda Mobilio is very comfortable car, which has been equipped with plenty of comfort features. The resourceful air conditioning system has rear AC vents that assure superb cooling for the rear occupants has well. The instrument panel in the front cabin provides abundant information to the driver, such as low fuel warning, fuel consumption, door ajar warning, driver’s seat belt warning, and more. The telescopic tilt power steering wheel is amazing and makes the driver simpler in heavy traffic too. On the entertainment front, the mp3 player has FM radio with USB, Aux-in and iPod support. The Bluetooth connectivity fetches some brownie points for the car.  The audio and Bluetooth controls are fixed on the power steering wheel for easy access to the driver.

Renault Duster Vs Honda Mobilio (Engine, Transmission and Gearbox)

Under the bonnet, Renault Duster has both diesel and petrol engine options. The petrol variant of this SUV comes with 1.6-Litre K4M engine churns out maximum power of 102.5bhp and 145Nm of torque. The five-speed manual transmission has been coupled with the engine to ensure good performance. On the other hand, the 1461cc 1.5-Litre dCi engine can be seen in the diesel variant of this SUV. The engine is strong and bold, which keeps the power and capacity to pump out 83.8bhp power and 200Nm of torque. You would find the same five-speed manual transmission coupled with the engine here as well. However, there is another diesel variant, where the engine gives away 108.5bhp power with 248Nm torque. The power train here has been mated with six speed manual transmission.

Honda Mobilio is a versatile MUV, which is offered in diesel as well as petrol engine options. the petrol one has 1497cc, 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine with 16 valves and 4 cylinders configuration. The engine is brawny and churns out 117.3bhp power and 145Nm torque. The five-speed manual gearbox sends power to the front wheels. The diesel variant on the other hand has i-DTEC 1.5-Litre engine with a displacement capacity of 1498cc. This one produces high power of 98.6bhp and 200Nm of torque. The same 5-speed manual gearbox is united with the engine.

Renault Duster Vs Honda Mobilio (Mileage and Safety)

The mileage department of Renault Duster is strong and very notable. the 85PS diesel version of Duster produces 15kmpl of mileage of city roads and 19.87kmpl on the highways, whereas the 110PS version gives away 14kmpl in heavy traffic conditions and 19.5kmpl on the expressways. The petrol variants of Duster are no less. The car manages to deliver 13.05kmpl of peak fuel economy.

The most impressive part of Mobilio is its mileage. The car’s petrol version manages to give away 17.8kmpl mileage on the highways and 14.3kmpl on the city roads. On the other hand, the diesel ones deliver 20kmpl of fuel economy on the heavy traffic roads, while this figure goes up to 24.3kmpl on the highways.

The safety section of Renault Duster has been done keeping in mind the safety of the car as well as of the occupants. the top end variant are equipped with all the necessary features, comprising of dual SRS airbags, 3-point seat belts, Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic brake force distribution system, Brake Assist, impressive suspension system, high mounted stop lamp and a rigid body structure. Furthermore, the top trim also features anti-slip regulation, electronic stability program, rear parking sensors and more.

Honda Mobilio has been made a safe MUV, with numerous safety features installed in it. It comes with ABS, EBD and BA in all diesel variants. The engine immobilizer is there to ensure safety of the car along with keyless entry, dual SRS airbags, front fog lamps, central locking system, driver’s seat belt reminder, 3-point ELR seat belt, strong body and child safety locks.

Verdict

Honda Mobilio and Renault Duster both are strong contenders, when we come to family car section. Both the cars have their own pros and cons too. Renault Duster offers an AWD variant, while Mobilio misses out on the same. However, the mileage department of Mobilio has an upper hand as compared to Duster. The lack of rear AC vents that are present in the base variant of Mobilio are missing on the Duster. Perhaps you would want to for Mobilio if you have a big family and want a larger seating capacity of seven.
