Tata Nano GenX exteriors Vs Datsun Go exteriors
Talking about the exteriors, it is one of the main parts that we take into consideration when buying a car. And both Nano GenX and Datsun Go are designed keeping in mind the compactness needed during the ride and strong structure for safety. Starting with Nano GenX, Tata Motors has worked hard and made this GenX a very exciting one to the eyes. The front façade has been installed with headlamps that have Nano badging, while the new grille is a charmer. The body colored door handles and ORVMs are quite appealing to the eyes. The centre antenna is perfectly places, while the rear has boot that could be opened easily. The new design in Tata Nano GenX is taken to a next level with a lot of chrome treatment on the front and rear.
On the other hand, if we talk about Datsun Go, the car manufacturer has left no stone unturned by making Go an attractive offer for the consumers. The bold character lines on the body will grab your attention in a single glace. The front is enhanced with the smooth bonnet along with silver finished radiator grille and a pair of big headlamps. The A and T variants of the car come with body colored bumper and body colored ORVMs. The top end trim gets internally adjustable ORVMs accompanied by full wheel covers. The rear profile of the car is chic with the presence of stylish tail lights and high mounted stop lamp. If we see, the dimensions of Datsun Go are a notch higher than Tata Nano GenX.
Nano GenX interiors vs Datsun Go interiors
Coming to the interiors, Tata Motors have improved a lot in this section. Tata Nano GenX has a better cabin, which has been provided with a lot of extra features, which seem to be absent in the preceding model. The centrally mounted instrument panel is standard along with the circular AC vents. The chrome finish on the gear stick is the highlighting feature here. Another interesting thing is that you would find the AMT gearbox instead of four-speed manual transmission. The car could fit in five people without any problem. However, being a small car, the leg space for the rear occupants is a little less.
In comparison, Datsun Go is a spacious compact car that has been equipped with impressive interiors. The A and T variants have air conditioning system, which is capable of cooling down the cabin within few minutes. The front cabin is endowed with numerous utility features, such as front bottle holders, coin holder, a big glove compartment front back seat pockets(in T variant only) etc. the top end variant also comes with an impressive music system with an amplifier. This stereo system is supported by USB interface and Aux-in port. The top trim also gets chrome finish on the AC vents along with 12V power socket in the center console. The other features include in door ajar warning, low fuel warning light, electric power steering wheel, high quality fabric upholstery, remote fuel lid and tail gate opener, front power windows, internal room lamp, and more.
Nano GenX vs Datsun Go (Engine, Gearbox and Transmission)
Coming to the technical specification, Tata Nano GenX is improved in a big way. It is offered in only petrol engine option. The variants feature 1.00-Litre 3-cylinder petrol motor, which is way better than the 2-cylinder 624cc engine. However, the 624cc engine would still be present in other variants of the car. The new engine will give away good power and torque, thereby promising an inspiring performance on road. This is further enhanced with the presence of new AMT manual gearbox, which is also in attendance in Tata Zest sedan.
Datsun Go is available in petrol engine option only. However, the engine is bigger and better than what Nano GenX offers. The 1.2-litre in-line power train has the displacement capacity of 1198cc. Its configuration involves 12 valves and 3 cylinders with the help of double overhead camshaft. The petrol motor here is strong enough to give away 67.06bhp of power along with 104Nm of torque. The five-speed manual transmission coupled with the engine sends power to the front wheel ensuring a decent performance altogether.
Nano GenX vs Datsun Go (Mileage and Safety)
Both the companies know that mileage is an important factor for a car consumer. Therefore, they have tried to make these cars fuel-efficient and easy to maintain. Starting with Tata Nano GenX, the car’s engine is extremely proficient and promises to deliver an amazing mileage of 25.35kmpl. On the other hand, Datsun GO doesn’t disappoint here. The car delivers a good fuel economy of 17kmpl on the city roads and 20.63kmpl on the highways.
Coming to the safety segment, both cars come with decent safety features, but Datsun Go has an upper hand here. The car has a light weight design, with an aerodynamic body make. Therefore, it has been blessed with engine immobilizer, powerful and bold halogen headlamps, child safety locks, three-point seat belts for the front, central locking system, two-point belts for the rear occupants, seat belt warning for the driver, etc.
In contrast, Tata Nano GenX has got a good body with engine, immobilizer, central locking system and three-point seat belts. However, it misses out on the airbags. Also, it doesn’t have Anti-Lock Braking system, which is also missing in Datsun Go. But in overall, Datsun Go has better safety features as compared to Tata Nano GenX.
On the whole, both the cars are a perfect fit for a small family. And especially when the budget is tight, Tata Nano GenX seems to be a better option. There is another reason for buying Nano GenX, which is its high class mileage. The improved stability is impressive. On the other hand, Datsun Go has better exteriors and interiors along with responsive steering wheel, large legroom, and great suspension system. But if mileage and stability is what matters along with the price tag, Tata Nano GenX could be an option for you.
