Volkswagen Vento Vs Hyundai Verna (Design and Exteriors)
The Volkswagen Vento has only received a minor facelift so far and it does not make it look substantially different than the car it replaced. However, to the discerning eye, the changes would be apparent. There is a new bumper, fog-lamps at the front and a triple slat chrome grille. At the back, you will notice a chrome tipped exhaust and new taillight cluster. There is more chrome on the bumper and the tailgate which makes the car look more upmarket than before. Despite the changes, the new volkswagen car still has an understated styling which was one of the main characteristics of the old car.
The Hyundai Verna definitely looks more stylish than the Vento, from whichever angle you look at it. Also since the car is now longer and wider, it offers more road presence. There are projector headlamps at the front and radically designed face that carries a similar hexagonal grille that we have become used to seeing. Electrically foldable ORVMs are found on higher variants of both the cars. The Vento uses 15inch alloy wheels on the top variants whereas the Verna comes equipped with 16inch alloys.

The Vento offers features like cooled glove box, Sunglass holder, 12V power outlet, rear parking sensors, cruise control, internal fuel-lid opener, gear shift indicator (For manual transmission), height-adjustable driver seat, rear defogger, instrument cluster that offers – tachometer, odometer, tripmeter and speedometer as standard across all variants. The Vento offers three engine choices – two petrol (1.6-litre MPI & 1.2-litre TSI) and one diesel 1.5-litre TDI. The DSG automatic gearbox is available on the 1.2-litre TSI petrol and 1.5-litre TDI diesel motor only. The 1.6-litre motor, as well as the 1.2-litre motor, produce similar power figures (104bhp) and a peak torque of 153Nm and 175Nm or torque respectively. The Hyundai Verna offers two engine choice (1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel) and an option of AT with both the motors. The 1.6-litre diesel motor produces a class leading 128bhp of power and a peak torque of 260Nm. The Hyundai Verna petrol motor too produces a class leading 123bhp of power and 151Nm of torque.
