Daimler bought a 20% stake in MV Agusta?
Snapshot: The official announcement is expected at EICMA this November.
After the successful merger of Superbike Ducati and the German car makers Audi, we have another news suggesting a merger on similar lines between Daimler and MV Agusta. What seemed to be a possibility earlier this year, is now taking final shape and rumors are that MV Agusta had already sold its 20% minorities to Daimler. The official announcement is expected at EICMA this November.
The Italian Superbike makers were aiming high with new launches and penetration in worldwide market. Now with the push of Daimler and the expertise of AMG, the performance division of Mercedes, we believe MV Agusta will reduce the gap with rivals like Ducati. Recent launches like F3, a 675 cc and low cost sports bike, MV Agusta suggested that they are ready for the masses.
Castiglioni family owned Italiian motorcycle maker, MV Agusta is looking forward to the experience in Motorsports brought by Mercedes. Plus all the money flowing along with the plethora of expertise in marketing, communication, technology and design resources, will help MV Agusta to move ahead with competetion and remain an Italian iconic bike manufacturer simultaneously.
The current product lineup includes, Brutale, F4, F3 and Rivale. They also had a tremendous history in Motorsports. But nowadays they are not doing good enough. We hope AMG will help them retain their status and they start winning races again.
