Listen to music
Listening to music is a good time pass during a traffic jam. It can be a playlist on your iPhone or iPod, a music CD, the radio, or anything you want to listen to. ?
Use the Mobile Internet
Use your phone 3G and check your email, the weather, or even find information about the traffic jam you are stuck in.
It is important to inform your boss, or family or anyone who is waiting for you as soon as possible. Also a phone conversation might take your mind off the traffic. Talk to your friends or relatives. You could even text them.
Understand that you will eventually get out of the traffic. Traffic jams may last for over an hour or even 2 hours, but if you think you'll be there for more than a day or even forever, you'll be stressed out and worried.
Have a snack
Bring something to eat and/or drink. You might be hungry or thirsty during the traffic jam. It will keep your energy and your spirits up.
Look out for exit
If you can, find the next exit and take a new way. Be sure, however, that if you get off at an exit, the new way will take you to where you need to get to.
Even if you're really tired, never sleep in the car. This is very dangerous and you may not even see it when the traffic jam is over!
