Full list of expected bike launches at Auto Expo 2018

Snapshot: This Auto Expo will be interesting as apart from the regular brands, even electric bike making companies have joined the list this year.

The dates of the Auto Expo 2018 are out and so is the list of the bike manufacturers participating this year. Many of the major brands like Triumph, Benelli, Bajaj, and Ducati are not participating this year, on the other hand, companies like Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki will surely be making noise with their new bikes. Apart from that, new electric bike start-ups like 22 Motors and Emflux will also be breaking a sweat to grab as much attention as they can with their greener alternatives. We list down some of the expected bike launches at Auto Expo this year.

Hero Xtreme 200S:

The brand showcased the new Xtreme 200S at the last Auto Expo as well, but this year will finally bring the good news of its launch. The Xtreme 200S is the bigger avatar of the famous Xtreme 150. It derives its power from the new 200cc engine delivering 18bhp of maximum power at 8500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike will be offered with standard ABS for safety under harsh braking conditions.

Kawasaki Z900RS

The Japanese bike maker showcased the new Z900RS bike at last year’s EICMA show and now it is looking forward to launching the same at the Auto Expo this year. The new Z900RS is the retro street version of the Z900 naked bike. Also, it draws inspiration from the original Kawasaki Z1 bike that used to sell decades back. The new Z900RS runs on the same engine as on its street sibling but has been detuned for slightly manageable power and torque delivery.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE

The world’s first supercharged sports tourer was also unveiled at the EICMA 2017. Now the brand will be bringing the same at the Auto Expo this year. It is the touring version of the highly potent supersport machine, the Ninja H2, but comes with a highly relaxed riding position for touring unlike the latter. When launched, expect a price tag of Rs 28 lakh to Rs 30 lakh on it.

Hero Xpulse

India’s biggest bike maker, Hero showcased the new bigger version of the Impulse, christened as Xpulse, a few days back. Now the Delhi based brand is looking forward to launching the same at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018. The bike will be powered by a new 200 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine and will be launched in a price bracket of Rs 1.1 lakh to Rs 1.3 lakh.

Yamaha YZF R3 2018

The brand discontinued the earlier YZF-R3 last year and now the company is looking forward to reviving the same in its BS4 version. The new 2018 YZF-R3 also comes with a new paint scheme that differentiates it from its bygone version. You can expect a similar price tag on it as before which is close to Rs 3.3 lakh.

Suzuki GSX-S750

The middle-weight motorcycle segment in India will witness a new motorcycle in the form of the new Suzuki GSX-S750. The bike is based on its bigger 1000cc version and also looks highly similar to elder brother. It will compete against the new Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple S and also the Ducati Monster 797. Expect the launch price to be around Rs 8 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.

Suzuki V-Strom 650

Apart from the naked GSX-S750, the company will be gathering a lot of attention at the Auto Expo 2018 with its new V-Strom 650. The V-Strom is an adventure tourer that competes against the Kawasaki Versys 650. It offers long travel suspension, wide and comfortable seats, high raised handlebar, and long windshield that benefits in the long adventure rides. It will be priced in the similar bracket as the Versys 650 which is around Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh. 

Honda Rebel 300

The company is planning to bring a cruiser bike to the Indian motorcycle market in the form of the Rebel 300. The bike looks aggressive and is quite expected to be a hit among the Indian cruiser bike customers. It will be a potential competitor to the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and will be priced around Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1.65 lakh.

Honda CBR 300R

Honda might also launch the highly awaited CBR 300R in the Indian market at the upcoming Auto Expo. The famous CBR 250R was discontinued a few months back due to emission restrictions, so new CBR 300R might come as a replacement for the same. The new CBR 300R will be fairly premium product and will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3. Expect it to be priced around Rs 2.8 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.

Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0

Yamaha YZF-R15 series is not new to the Indian market but an upgraded version is due from last 5 years. The new Version 3 has already been spied quite a few times and is expected to be launched at the Auto Expo 2018. The bike comes with fully redesigned body panels and improved engine but, on the other hand, it still lacks ABS. Expect a price tag of around Rs 1.4 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh.

22 Motors Flow

The electric bike making company based in Manesar Haryana introduced its new product, the Flow scooter a few weeks back. Also, the company announced its plans on launching the same at the AutoExpo this year. The scooter comes packed with a bunch of features such as smartphone connectivity enabled interface, ABS, Geofencing app, LED lights and much more. 22 Motors also announced that price of the Flow scooter will not cross more than Rs 75,000 when launched.

Emflux Model1

The Bangalore based electric bike start up is planning to introduce an electric superbike by the name Model1. The electric superbike derives its power from a liquid-cooled AC induction motor making 67bhp and 84Nm of torque. The motor will source its power from lithium-ion batteries which have been supplied form Samsung. The company claims acceleration figures of 0-100kmph in close to 3 seconds.

Kawasaki Ninja 400

Kawasaki has updated the current Ninja 300 with the new Ninja 400, and chances are you might the same getting launched at the Auto Expo this year. Since it carries a bigger engine and fully redesigned body and graphics, it will be priced much higher than its current version. It competes against the KTM RC 390 and Yamaha YZF-R3.
