Hero Motocorp reveals its five new models
Snapshot: Indian leading two-wheeler manufacturer Hero unveiled its new five models in India, the range includes three production model and two concept vehicles
India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Motocorp has just revealed its new five models for the Indian market. At an event in Delhi, the company has revealed a new gearless Dash Scooter, CBZ Xtreme Sportz, a fully-faired sports bike- HX 250 R, electric concept scooter- Leap and an innovative diesel bike- RNT concept.
The quarter-litre motorcycle is an all-new attempt by the company at making a lightweight sports motorcycle. The two-wheeler features an all-new liquid-cooled 250cc engine with an output of 31 bhp and a six-speed transmission. It is equipped with an advanced multi-sensor fuelling system to deliver optimal fuelling. The HX250R gets telescopic hydraulic suspension up front and a monoshock setup at the rear.
The Hero Dash is a standard 110cc gearless scooter which will compete with the Suzuki Access, TVS Jupiter and the market leader Activa. It is powered by a 110cc mill that outputs 8.5 bhp and has a peak torque of 9.4 nm. The scooter gets 12' wheels coupled with telescopic hydraulic suspension in the front. The Dash tips the scales at 110 kgs and has a fuel tank of 6 litres fuel tank. The product offers many other useful features such as fuel lid, mobile charging socket, seat storage light and a key with E-Code.
The Hero Leap is an electric hybrid concept vehicle from the Gurgaon based manufacturer. Earlier it was showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo. The Leap is powered by lithium-ion batteries and an electric-traction motor with an onboard generator powered by an all-new 124 cc engine that produces 11 bhp. The Hero Leap has a top-speed of 100 km/hr.
Hero RNT Concept
The Hero RNT is a diesel concept bike that looks to be targeted mainly at the rural markets in the country. The vehicle gets a high 150 cc diesel engine that develops 13.5 bhp of power and has a peak torque of 35 Nm, and its also offers an optional turbocharger. The RNT gets an option of being attached with an oversize generator, offered as an accessory, to make it a hybrid. Another option is a hub electric motor in the front wheel powered by an electric battery pack, to give the rider a unique two-wheel drive option. This bike is currently in a concept stage and its expected will be here by an year or two .
Hero Xtreme Sports
The Hero Xtreme Sports is a refreshed version of the company's on-going Xtreme. Powered by the same single-cylinder 150 cc engine, that produces 15.2 bhp with maximum torque pegged at 12.8 Nm. The engine is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. Exterior changes in this new version includes- new headlamp with LED position lights and telescopic hydraulic suspension at the front and an adjustable gas reservoir swing arm suspension at the rear.
