Hyundai Venue compact SUV finally made its launch in India at a staggering price of Rs 6.50 lakh and the range further goes up to Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new sub-4-metre compact SUV will be available in a total of five trims – E, S, SX, SX (O) and SX+ along with three engine options. In the Indian market, the Hyundai Venue compact SUV will compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport along with recently launched Mahindra XUV300 as well. More interestingly, the Hyundai Venue comes loaded with features, out of which some are segment-first. So here are some of the important things that you need to know about the new Hyundai Venue compact SUV.
Hyundai Venue Exterior
The Venue compact SUV wears Hyundai’s signature cascading grille and some chrome finishing added to it, projector headlamps set lower on the bumper with LED daytime running lights surrounding it, projector fog lamps; and turn indicators placed high between the bumper and bonnet edge. Hyundai Venue gets roof rails, plastic cladding and not to forget that it rides on a newly designed 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The rear end of the Venue gets LED taillamps with some crystal effect to the housing and the centre of the boot gets a Venue badging. Hyundai Venue will be available in seven exterior colour options – Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Denim Blue (New), Lava Orange (New), Stardust and Deep Forest, where Denim Blue, Polar white and Deep Forest get dual-tone options.
Hyundai Venue Specification (Engine & Transmission)
The most luring part for buyers is that the Venue comes with three engines as well as three transmission options, to choose from. There are two petrol engines and one diesel engine on offer. The petrol variants get a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit that makes 82 bhp with 115 Nm that will come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox; and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 118 bhp of maximum power with 172Nm of torque and this engine comes mated to a 7-speed DCT (this engine-transmission combination has made debut with the new model). The noticing part here is that the Venue is the only model to come packed with a DCT in its segment. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is the same that also caters its bigger sibling - Hyundai Creta, which is a 1.4-litre diesel engine. The 1.4-litre motor makes 89 bhp of power with 220 Nm of top torque and comes coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai Venue Mileage
With three engine options to attract the buyers, Hyundai Venue is also the most fuel-efficient product in its segment. The 1.4-litre diesel engine returns a good fuel economy of 23.7kmpl, which is marginally more than Vitara Brezza’s 23.4kmpl, but still best-in-class. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine returns a fuel efficiency of 17.5kmpl, where the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit with manual gearbox returns a mileage of 18.27kmpl, while when paired with a DCT, it returns a fuel economy of 18.15kmpl (this one is too best-in-segment).

The interior of the Venue SUV comes fresh just like its face and it is an all-new design if we compare it to other Hyundai models. Moreover, Hyundai offers the Venue SUV with an all-black treatment making it different from the global-spec, which is dual-tone. The interior is filled with upmarket fit material and the fit and finish of the Venue SUV is good and similar to its bigger sibling Hyundai Creta.
