Hyundai is all geared up to unveil its new product in the sub-compact category – the Venue (codenamed as QXi). Hyundai Venue will make its premiere in India as well as at the 2019 New York motor show. Though, the Hyundai Venue launch date is expected to lie somewhere in the mid of May-2019. It will be positioned under Hyundai’s best-selling SUV – Creta. With its unveil nearing there many things that the buyers need to know about this new product, so let’s find out what this new sub-compact SUV has to compete against its already, well selling competitors.
Exterior wise, it will look like a modern Creta, but smaller in size. Going by the recently leaked images, it is clear that the car will come with split-styled headlamps, where the daytime running lights are surrounding the lower headlamps and large chrome-finished grille up front. The new Venue compact SUV will ride on new dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the rear end has been slapped with square-shaped taillamps.
Cabin and features
The Hyundai Venue interior will get an all-black theme, while the centre of the dash gets a floating infotainment system. The car now gets differently designed round dials for AC controls and the AC vents get silver accent surrounds. The interior will come with upmarket material to compete against its rivals.
The new Hyundai Venue will come with Hyundai’s global BlueLink tech, company's global technology that will debut with the Venue. This tech has 33 features, wherein 10 features are specifically developed for the Indian market. The features will come in connectivity to the convenience, safety along with many vehicle management relationships services. The safety features include automatic crash notification, where it will notify emergency alert on its own in a situation like an accident; an SOS alert message button on the IRVM to call for roadside assistance, geo-fence alert, speed alert, sharing your destination and panic notification.
Other features that will come with are engine start/stop, door lock and unlock, climate control, horn honk & light along with vehicle status, where these features are remote controlled (smartphone-enabled) that will give an upmarket experience to the buyers. That apart, it will also provide with real-time traffic updates, and live tracking of the vehicle as well. The new Venue will also feature a sunroof, ventilated seats(which is a segment first feature), and a large touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As far as the engine specification is concerned, Hyundai Venue compact SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel disguise. It will come packed with a naturally aspirated 1.4L four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 99 bhp of maximum power and a turbocharged 1.4L four-cylinder diesel engine that belts out 89 bhp. The new Venue will also debut a new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit that will come mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, making the new SUV as the only one to come with a dual-clutch.
In the Indian market, the Hyundai Venue compact will pounce with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the recently launched Mahindra XUV300. So, expect the Hyundai Venue prices to lie within this range only.
