Hyundai Xcent exterior Vs Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire exterior
It has been almost typical of the three box cars designs that are derived from the hatch backs to look like a patch up job. We have very rarely seen an exception to this, one example of this would be the Volkswagen Vento which has been derived from the Polo and looks like a job well done.
Although, both the cars look bulbous, the Xcent has a better design and looks overall more balanced. On the front, there is hardly any difference among the cars from which they are derived. The Maruti Suzuki has made significant changes to the rear C-pillar and the way it droops to form a comparatively larger door, as a result, the cabin is more airy and gets more light when compared to the Swift.
The Xcent is very well designed, has tall shoulder lines just like the Swift. Both the cars have the exact wheelbase and it is longer than the cars from which they are derived. This should help in providing better legroom.
The boot size of the DZire has been decreased significantly from the 440 litres (on the outgoing DZire) to 316 litres. In comparison, the Xcent has much better boot space at 407 litres. The rear end styling of both the cars is not awe-inspiring and looks rather confused. Still, the Xcent has better rear styling in comparison.
Hyundai Xcent interior Vs Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire interior
Hyundai has been consistently out-performing themselves and others in doing the interiors of their cars. The Xcent is no exception and it has a very pleasing cabin. The black color of the interiors goes well with the beige elements and feels premium. The seats too come with two-tone (black and beige) colour.
The quality of plastics used on DZire does not feel as good as the Xcent but the DZire’s cabin looks better just because of the overall black colour of the seats and dashboard. We preferred the front seats on DZire since they come with adjustable headrests unlike Xcent, in which the headrests are integrated.

The cars come with a petrol and a diesel engine option. The Xcent has a 3 cylinder diesel motor which offers moderate power (72 PS @ 4000 RPM).
