Tata Nexon appears to be an extremely thought out product as far as the design goes. While design and looks have a role to play, design alone cannot make it successful. Thankfully, it is quite feature-rich too and offers a lot of goodies along with a set of capable engine options. Does it have what it takes to shake up the competition? We find out in this comparison infographic.
Pricing would be the strategy for Tata and we expect that Nexon would undercut the competition by a long margin and would offer great value. While it may be more or less comparable in terms of wheelbase, height etc. It offers best ground clearance in class at 209mm, which would make it extremely hard to scrape its belly.
Nexon would offer a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine along with a 1.5-litre diesel motor. Both develop similar power figures, however, in terms of torque, diesel has a distinct advantage. Ford EcoSport, on the other hand, offers three engine choices. Vitara Brezza offers a 1.3-litre Fiat sourced diesel engine only with no option for petrol. You get a DSG automatic transmission with the EcoSport 1.5-litre engine while other two offer only manual transmissions at the moment.
Though Tata Nexon offers quite a lot of impressive features like floating touchscreen, a music system from Harman, a place where you could keep your umbrella etc. It does miss out others like cruise control, rain sensing wipers etc. You get these in the case of Ford EcoSport as well as the Vitara Brezza. EcoSport is the best in terms of safety features, and you get features like six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, EBA etc. with the top variant.
