Kawasaki to launch the 2016 ZX-10R at the Sepang International circuit, Malaysia

Few months back the Japanese motorcycle maker unveiled its 2016 model of the litre segment super sports motorcycle, the ZX10R. And now Kawasaki is all set to officially launch the same in Sepang Malaysia. The launch will be followed its track test at the Sepang International Circuit and soon after its launch, we can expect that the bike will make to Indian shores.

Kawasaki has heavily updated the new gen ZX10R and the new bike has gone through a lot of changes from electronics to the over-all design. Former WSBK Champion, Tom Sykes, will be there as an instructor at the Sepang International Circuit. He also played an important role in the development of the 2016 ZX10R and the Japanese firm also claims that this is the closest ZX10R to the factory world superbike.

As seen, the bike has gone through some small and big design changes for more aggressive aerodynamics. From the front headlamps to rear section the bike’s design has changed significantly. Its new 998cc inline-four liquid-cooled engine churns out atrocious 197bhp of max power. The use of a new lighter cylinder head has reduced the engine weight and addition of new electronic throttle and new Euro 4 titanium exhaust has brought the beast to its most aggressive form.

Kawasaki has further loaded the bike with hyper advanced electronics like the Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System, Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, Kawasaki Quick Shifter, Kawasaki Engine Brake Control and the new Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control. All this combined the bike is expected to fare at a slightly more price than the current ZX10R which retails at INR 18.17 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

While the bike has already been launched in December in Australia, the international launch will happened soon. Stay tuned to BikePortal as we bring you more updates on the same and don’t forget to type in your views in the comment section below.
