Kia Seltos was officially launched last week in a price bracket of Rs 9.69-15.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market. The company introduced it with multiple powertrain-transmission combinations while offering a whooping 16 variants. The petrol and diesel variants are available in five trims: HTE, KTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+. The SUV has already registered 32,000+ bookings in a month's time and the waiting period has already risen up to 3-4 months for certain variant and color combinations. Kia Seltos is placed in the mid-sized 5-seater SUV segment against the likes of Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Maruti S-Cross, Nissan Kicks and Jeep Compass. Kia Seltos HTE
It is the base trim of Seltos offered with 1.5L petrol and diesel engines, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Despite being the entry-level trim, it is packed with a plethora of features in form of ABS with EBD, Dual front airbags, Projector headlamps, Follow-me-home headlamps, Keyless entry, 4-speaker sound system, Multi-function Steering wheel with tilt adjustment, Rear AC vents, UVO Lite connectivity suite, etc. to name a few. The petrol variant retails at Rs 9.69 Lakhs, while diesel is priced at Rs 9.99 Lakhs.
Kia Seltos HTK
The second trim level in the SUV lineup is also powered by the same 1.5L motors with 6-speed manual gearbox. However, they gain a lot of features over the base trim in form of ‘Ice cube’ LED fog lamps, USB charger for Smartphone, 6 Speaker music system and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company has not raised the pricing by much as the petrol and diesel variants in HTK trim are retailed at Rs 9.99 Lakhs and Rs 11.19 Lakhs, respectively. It can be termed as the most value-for-money variant in the SUV's lineup.
It is the mid-level grade which is available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with the 1.5L engines. The petrol is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox while the diesel can be availed with an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, besides the manual unit. The feature list also gets premium with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED mood lighting with sound effects, Rear wiper and washer, Smart key with push-button start, Cruise control, One-touch up and down for driver’s window, etc. as standard. The price for Kia Seltos HTK+ petrol is Rs 11.19 Lakhs while the Kia Seltos HTK+ diesel is retailed at Rs 13.19 Lakhs.
Resting under the top-spec variant, the HTX trim is on offer in both petrol and diesel with the 1.5L twins. However, the petrol engine is also available with a CVT gearbox besides the conventional 6-speed manual unit. It comes packed with several bells and whistles such as Isofix child seat mounts, Tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, Leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment, Rear reclining seats with 60:40 split and adjustable headrests, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Ambient mood lighting, UVO connectivity suite, Wireless charging, USB charging slots for second row, Air purifier with Automatic air conditioner etc. as standard. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 12.79 Lakhs while the diesel gets a price tag of Rs 13.79 Lakhs.
Kia Seltos HTX+
It is the flagship-grade in the Kia Seltos range with almost every advanced and sophisticated feature. It is on offer with only the 1.5L diesel engine with 6-speed MT and 6-speed torque converter AT. The features include Six airbags, Vehicle stability management (with automatic only), Hill-start assist (with automatic only), ESC (with automatic only), Front parking sensors, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 7.0-inch multi-info display, 8-speaker Bose sound system, 360-degree camera, Driver rearview monitor, Ventilated seats, Wireless charging, Power sunroof, Rain-sensing wipers, etc. to mention a few. It is retailed at Rs 14.99 Lakhs for the manual one and Rs 15.99 Lakhs for the automatic one.
