Maintenance guide - How to keep the car interior clean?

Snapshot: Below are some basic tips on how to keep your car interior clean and tidy.

If you spend a lot of time in your car then keeping your car clean is important. It is difficult to maintain the fresh smell of a new car over a period of time. It is replaced by dirty smell. Therefore pay attention in small things and feel the difference. Below are some tips on how to keep the car interior as fresh and clean.

Clean out the trash
Take out extra time from your schedule and clean out all the rubbish from the car. Cars seem to consume items in every corner and crack, it can be napkins, papers, wrappers, dust, etc. Therefore the first step to have a sparkling clean interior is to clean out the trash from the car.

Vacuuming
Vacuum every nook and corner of the car. Remove the mats and vacuum the seats and the carpet. Clean the floor mats separately. You can use the soft brush attachment available to clean the dashboard, doors and centre console.

Avoid smoking
Smoking is not only injurious your health but also to your car health. The tobacco smell gets absorbed in the car interior and it is difficult to remove the odour from the car. Therefore avoid smoking inside the car. Also avoid having food and beverages. Food smell also stays in the interior for a longer period of time.

Clean the seats and door upholstery
There are various upholstery cleaners available in the market. Just spray the cleaner, rub and once the dirt is off, then wipe it thoroughly with dry cloth. Same way clean the seats. If you can't find any upholstery cleaner, then regular laundry detergent will work.

Clean car leather
If you have leather seats, then taking care of the leather is important. Use only leather care products for cleaning as other products can make it sticky. Do not use paper towel as it can leave scratches, instead use soft cotton towel.

Remove old stickers
If there are old faded stickers on the car window, scrape them off. Use a plastic putty knife to take the sticker off. Some stickers leave sticky gummy residue, just use an old towel and dab on warm water. Clean the area by gently scrubbing it and then wipe it off.

Clean the windows
It is important to clean the windows from inside and outside. Use window cleaner and a soft cotton cloth. Clean off the dust and dirt that has been accumulated at the top.

Add trash bag
Carry extra trash bag in the car. You can just use some old plastic bags. Hang it where ever it is convenient for you and use it for empty drink cans, or food wrappers, used napkins, etc.
