Maruti Suzuki Baleno car is the best-selling hatch in the segment. Hyundai Elite i20 has received a facelift during AutoExpo 2018 and being its top competitor, Baleno 2019 Facelift is one of the most awaited cars. However, the on-sale Baleno is already plush and has almost everything in terms of features and accessories that a modern car should have, still it has started showing its age. The car is expected to be worked upon on a few small bits to make it look fresh and competitive. Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift 2019 launch will happen on January 27, 2019, with the Baleno Facelift bookings already started. So let’s get to know what we can expect from this beloved Maruti car.
Front and Rear Tweaks
Maruti Baleno 2019 will see tweaks to its front and rear end. Both bumpers will be replaced with a new unit. As seen in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift 2019 images and teaser, the front grill has also been stretched to make the car “smile better.” The bumper grille is also replaced with a more upmarket, premium and sporty unit which fits fog lamps on either end. The headlights don't seem to be having any change and are carried forward from the ongoing car. There are no cues received on the design of the rear bumper, but we expect a sportier outfit on it as well.
Interior Almost Untouched
Baleno’s interior is already a rich unit with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, front and rear centre armrest, and a good number of cubbyholes for your storage. Maruti may make some changes to the overall fit, finish and ambience inside the cabin along with a change in the quality of seat fabric as the premium hatchback segment is considered to be plush and comfortable. Although the on-sale car has a comfortable cabin, we expect it to be more cushioned for longer trips.

Under the Hood
Maruti Suzuki Baleno engine won’t see any change in the facelift. The 1.2-litre petrol unit and Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel unit will continue to serve you in the facelift model as well. The petrol unit produces 83 PS of power while the diesel motor is limited to 75 PS. Maruti Baleno RS may also continue with the same proportions as it used to. We were expecting a diesel CVT transmission with Baleno as the Honda Amaze diesel CVT is already rolling in the market, but Maruti won’t be launching it any time sooner. Although, the petrol motor will continue with CVT and manual transmissions.
New Alloy Wheels
The 2019 Baleno Facelift will also receive a new set of alloy wheels. The current car has a multispoke alloy wheel design in gunmetal shade. Expect a new design with much sportier cues with the car. Standard Safety Features
The current Maruti Suzuki Baleno features in terms of safety will see some new additions along with the current offerings. Speed alert warning, seatbelt reminder for the front passengers and rear parking sensors will be introduced in the new car as the Govt. of India has mandated them. Apart from them, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat system will be continued with the new model.

Toyota’s Baleno
Toyota Bharat and Maruti Suzuki are entering into the badge engineering concept. Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will share Baleno, Vitara Brezza and Corolla Altis with one another to fill up the gaps they have been living with in the Indian market. Toyota-made Baleno will arrive in 2020 and not before that. So if you are keen towards buying Toyota made Baleno, you need to wait for that.
7. Competition
The primary competitor of Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift 2019 will be Hyundai Elite i20 and Ford Figo. The new Ford Figo will be here anytime sooner and it’ll have a new set of features which will go inline with the current taste in the auto industry. Elite i20 has already received a facelift in 2018 and it looks fresh with new front grille and tailgate design. On one hand, i20 looks to be aggressive, the Ford Figo is rather sophisticated. The upcoming Baleno 2019 will get enhancements in some of the bits to deal with these two offerings.
