MotoGP - Aleix Espargaro to Undergo Hand Surgery after FrenchGP crash

Motogp.com is reporting that the Factory Ecstar Suzuki team rider Aleix Espargaro will undergo surgery on the hand he injured at Le Mans. If you were following the race weekend, you would have seen the replays telecasted numerous times during qualifying and on the raceday showing the nasty highside, the Spaniard had a suffered during FP3 at Le mans, falling heavily and injuring his hand. At the time of the crash, the scans done on his hand did not reveal anything, however the examinations on Monday by Dr. Mir clarified that he is suffering from a torn ligament in his right thumb, a condition more commonly known as skier’s thumb.
According to the official Team Ecstar Suzuki Press Release, Aleix Espargaro is to have an operation in Barcelona today on 19/5/15 to fix the problem. The surgery will be performed at the Dexeus Clinic, and Dr. Mir is to update the media on Tuesday afternoon, after the operation.
at present Aleix aim is for to race at Mugello round, which is around two weeks away, but, the doctors have refrained themselves in giving any specific date of the Suzuki riders return on the race paddock . With just over a week to go to the first practice for Mugello, recovery time is very short indeed, especially as this is the thumb of his right hand, which is so important to motorcycle racers.
According to a few reports Aleix crash occurred at speeds of around 200kmph!!
