New-Generation Honda Amaze - 10 Things You Need to Know

Snapshot: These 10 points would help you immensely in making decision regarding the purchase of new-generation Honda Amaze, which launches in May 2018.

Honda Amaze was launched in 2013 in India. And, it's nearly been 5 years since the launch, yet it continues to woo the buyers. The excitement and demand for the sedan hasn't ceased at all, despite the introduction of a plethora of new vehicles in the segment with far more striking appearance and up-market features. It has been a massive volume churner for the Japanese autogiant inspite of the segment being botched up with several contenders. Now, Honda is planning to introduce the second-generation Amaze in the country to stand neck-to-neck in the competiton and offer buyers some truly unique and first-in-segment features. The official bookings for the sedan have started from April 6, 2018 across the nation.

So, in order to make your decision easier regarding the purchase of 2018 Honda Amaze, which launches next month in May 2018, below are the 10 things that you need to know about the new-gen sedan:

1. New-gen Honda Amaze is underpinning an all-new advance architecture as the ongoing model's Brio platform has gone for a toss.

2. Making its world premiere at the 2018 Auto Expo in February in Greater Noida, the new-gen Honda Amaze would be locally developed at the company's Tapukara facility.

3. The Research and Development (R&D) work of the new-gen Honda Amaze is carried out mostly at the Japanese automaker's facility in Thailand, albeit with a plethora of inputs from the engineering team in India.

4. The new-gen Honda Amaze looks proportionate from every possible angle unlike the ongoing model which more of seems likes a hatchback with an extended boot.

5. For the first time ever, Honda Amaze would be available with a CVT gearbox in diesel fuel trim.

6. New-gen Honda Amaze gets a complete makeover in terms of exterior appearance as compared to its predecessor while drawing major inspiration from new-gen Accord saloon and the WR-V crossover, which was Honda's latest launch in India.

7. The noteworthy highlights of new front fascia are protruding nose, thick chrome grille, new LED wraparound headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), imposing front bumper, broader airdam, and large plastic cladding for new round foglamps.

8. The side profile is retained as there was nothing much Honda could do here, except for the newly-introduced 15-inch alloy wheels. On the other hand, the rear end boasts of a new boot-lid, beefed up bumper and LED taillamp cluster, which appear like a reverse form of WR-V's taillamps.

9. The interior cabin is identical to the current model, save for the introduction of new 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system with Navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

10. Similar to the ongoing model, both the 1.2L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engines would be at the helm, albeit with some tuning in order to enhance the fuel economy and handling. The 5-speed manual transmission would be offered as standard, while as stated in (5), a CVT gearbox would also be available.
