The second-generation Honda Amaze made its first appearance at the 2018 Auto Expo. Honda India unveiled the second-generation Honda Amaze on the first day of the Auto Expo 2018. Based on a new platform and takes styling cues from the tenth-generation Honda Accord, the new Amaze is up for a generation leap which is expected to lend it a new lease of life. The New Amaze compete with likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor, Volkswagaen Ameo and Ford Aspire. But, we don’t want to make tedious for you, so we are here for the comparison of the new Amaze and Dzire.
The new Amaze is based on a new platform and gets an elongated bonnet, a wide grille and sleek wraparound headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Apart from its all-new fresh face, one of the prominent changes on the outside is the single sharp character line that runs across the length of the sedan. Moreover, the 14 inch wheels have been replaced with 15 inchers. The new Maruti Dzire on the other hand is a complete departure from its predecessor when it comes to looks. The front fascia gets a new grille with a bold chrome surround that transforms the entire look. Vital changes have been made to the front and rear. As for the colour options, it is available in six shades including Oxford Blue, Sherwood Brown, Magnum Grey, Gallant Red, Silky Silver and Pearl Arctic White.
Under the bonnet, the new 2018 Honda Amaze would be offered with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that makes 88bhp and 109Nm of torque and Honda’s 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that belts out 99bhp and powers the current model. Where earlier, the Amaze was available in the 5-speed manual gearbox and CVT for the petrol variant only, now the CVT unit will offered on the diesel version as well. The engine option for the new Dzire includes - a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine that carried for its predecessor. Transmission options include the conventional 5-speed manual unit along with a 5-speed AMT.

Cabin & Features
To make the cabin more premium, Honda Amaze gets a dual-tone interior layout and will sport a new Digipad 2.0, 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-compatible and comes with features like MirrorLink. Moreover, the cabin is now more spacious than the outgoing model with more shoulder and head room at the rear. The boot capacity has also increased from 400 litres to 420 litres.
Similarly, Maruti made some dimensional change to carve out more space for the occupants. Besides, the company has added new in-cabin tech including a new touchscreen infotainment system which is now compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Value for Money
It will be too early to comment for the models in the part, as Honda Amaze yet to launch in India. The 2018 Honda Amaze received vital aesthetic changes, interior styling upgrades and new features. The new underpinnings will facilitate more space for the occupants. On the other hand, the new Dzire, not just offers good value for money but has received prominent changes which makes it better in all aspects than its predecessor.
