'Project Livewire' to appear in Marvel Comics' latest movie
Snapshot: Harley Davidson and Marvel Comics have confirmed the introduction of Harley Davidson's first electric motorcycle in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron
At the San Diego Comic Con, Harley Davidson and Marvel Comics announced the presence of Project Livewire in the latest Marvel Comics' movie. The forever beautiful Scarlett Johansson will be riding the machine in the movie along with Captain America. The Street 750 had also featured in Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier earlier this year.
Confirming the rumours, Mr. Dino Bernacchi, Director of U.S. Marketing, Harley Davidson said, "Our partnership with Marvel continues to provide thrilling platforms to showcase our latest innovations to existing and new fans of the brand. Not one, but two bikes will be featured in Avengers: Age of Ultron - Project LiveWire and the all-new Street 750, which is now available at Harley-Davidson dealerships.”
It must be noted that the bike was first spotted on the sets of the same movie a few months ago and had started a series of rumours worldwide. Harley then released a video of a 'very silent but insanely fast motorcycle' on Route 66 a few days later.
Even though it is not for sale as of now, Project Livewire is Harley Davidson's experiment to understand the possibilities of an electric motorcycle's market. Harley fans in San Diego will get to ride the motorcycle for real on July 25 and 26 at the local Harley Davidson dealership. This move is very significant as it will decide the course of action Harley will take in the future to make it a production motorcycle. The movie is set to get released on May 1, 2015.
