Evolution is a part of the human lifecycle. Human beings have evolved in every genre. Automobiles is certainly one area that has seen a major evolution. In the 1950s, cars were square with straight lines, the modern ones are curvy and aerodynamic. Unfortunately, SUV styling seems to have been left behind. Even today, most SUVs on our roads remain boxy and square.
Internationally however, the world of SUVs seems to be finally moving on to a more contemporary silhouette. The new generation of SUVs from Jaguar, Mercedes and BMW have a distinctly curved and aerodynamic look, incorporating elements of crossover design into the conventional SUV shape.
In India, the recently launched Renault Captur takes a cue from this new design language. While retaining the underbody sturdiness and height which are fundamental to the SUV category, the shape is distinctly aerodynamic with a modern tapering profile.
The world of SUVs has changed, have you?
