Maruti Suzuki is known for constantly evolving and developing better products and technologies for its customers. And now, they have added another feather to their cap with the launch of the Smart Hybrid Technology with New Dualjet, Dual VVT engine in Baleno.
What is Smart Hybrid Technology and how does it work?
Smart Hybrid Technology is an intelligent way to help increase fuel efficiency and enhance the driving performance of the vehicle. Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Smart Hybrid Technology in one of their best-selling premium hatchbacks, NEXA Baleno. The Smart Hybrid Technology uses a Lithium-ion battery to provide the torque assistance function. The energy stored in the Li-ion battery helps during the acceleration of the vehicle by delivering optimal acceleration. Similarly, when the car decelerates, the charging of the battery takes place, thereby assisting the engine in its Idle ‘start-stop’ and ‘torque assist’ functions.
Why do you need Smart Hybrid Technology?
The benefit of Smart Hybrid Technology are :
This technology conserves fuel by reducing its wastage during vehicular acceleration and idling of the vehicle by making use of the Li-on battery to deliver the requisite energy to the car.
This technology also ensures reduction of vehicular emission drastically as, by using the Li-ion battery during acceleration it minimizes the dependence on petrol/diesel thereby reducing the toxic levels of fuel emission. Similarly, the engine stops working when the vehicle is in the idling mode to eliminate any kind of unnecessary emission.
DualJet Dual VVT: Its benefits
Dual VVT engine (Variable Valve Timing) comes with both intake and exhaust valves having variable timing. The Dual VVT system works with great precision and helps in,
Reducing the valve duration when the engine works on less power at lower rpm
Increasing the valve timing to allow more fuel to the engine when it requires more power
Compliance with BS VI Norms
BS VI norms stipulate that there should be minimum emission of Nitrogen Oxides. At the same time, BS VI norms enforce a strict limit on the discharge of Non-Methane Hydrocarbons (NMHC). Thus, it ensures a substantial increase in the durability of the exhaust after-treatment system.
How does the New Baleno comply with BS VI stipulations?
Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the engine hardware and software while improving the exhaust system. The software requires updating to have precise control over fuel injection. The New Baleno comes with various onboard sensors thereby ensuring a cleaner and durable emission control.
The New Baleno is available in 2 variants namely Zeta and Delta with New Dualjet, Dual VVT BS VI compliant engine in India today. The other 2 available variants are Delta & Zeta, which are also equipped with BS VI compliant engines now.
Every vehicle has to become BS VI compliant in the future. MSIL ensures that the New Baleno in India to achieve this distinction. Maruti Suzuki lives up to its reputation for always presenting the best to its customers.
