21st August 2019 is another red-letter day in the annals of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. India's largest car manufacturer is launching Maruti XL6 through the Nexa Chain of premium dealerships. This stylish MPV borrows the basic design from Maruti Ertiga but has a more elegant and sportier appearance in comparison. One of the significant differences is the 6-seater layout. Let us look at ten features that differentiate the upcoming Maruti XL6 from Maruti Ertiga.

The Name Personifies Style

As the design was based on the Maruti Ertiga, there was massive speculation that the upcoming model might get a name like Maruti Ertiga Cross. However, we are in for a surprise as Maruti Suzuki has named it Maruti XL6. Maybe the six-seater layout has influenced this naming.

Maruti XL6 Comes in a Single Petrol Engine Version

The Maruti Ertiga comes equipped with three engine options. They are the 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and the 1.3-litre diesel variants. In comparison, the Maruti XL6 is available in only one 1.5-litre petrol engine. The additional feature is that it boasts of SHVH mild-hybrid technology. Hence, the transmission options could include a 5-speed manual along with a 4-speed automatic unit. This vehicle complies with BSVI norms. It works on the same K15B motor that powers the Ciaz and the Ertiga.

Sporty looks Make it a Class Apart

Though based on the Ertiga, the Maruti XL6 has a sportier body because of several styling changes. The sporty body cladding running across the lower portion of the vehicle is a class act. The silver-finished skid plates on the bumpers add to the attraction quotient.

Roof Rails Enhance the Athletic Feel

Almost all SUVs have roof rails in India. The Maruti XL6 is not different in any way. However, it features a pair of premium looking roof rails to enhance the sporty feel.

Impressive Interiors to Provide the Highest Degree of Comfort

The Maruti XL6 interiors are the stuff of dreams because of the availability of adequate space. The all-black interiors differ vastly from the beige-black interiors of the Ertiga. The spacious design allows for considerable legroom for the backseat passengers as well.

The USP of Maruti XL6 is its Captain Seats

The provision of Captain Seats on the second row differentiates it from the Ertiga. The donor model comes with a bench seat that makes it a seven-seater vehicle. The Maruti XL6 gets two Captain Chairs to become a six-seater model. Hence, it gets its name, XL6.

Exquisite Exteriors Make it a Car Worth Going Miles to See

The Maruti XL6 exterior comes with an entirely different look as compared to the Maruti Ertiga. The plastic cladding and the skid plates are distinguishing features. The front-end of this model gives the Maruti XL6 a distinct identity of its own. The sportier bumper, the bolder grille, and the sharper headlights make this car stand out from the rest of the SUVs in the market.

The Higher Level of Illuminations Adds Classy Appearance

The Maruti XL6 has an aggressive look in comparison to the Ertiga. The new headlights play a significant role in defining this aggression. These lights are not only sharper but also come with a wedge-like profile to add to the classy appearance. The high-quality LED lighting fixtures can produce illumination at an entirely different level.

Daylight Running Lamps is the Trend in Town

DRLs are the ongoing trends with almost all new models having a pair nowadays. Maruti XL6 lives up to this trend by offering this excellent option of daytime running LED lamps. This feature makes the Maruti XL6 one of the most innovative of all Maruti models. DRLs were absent on the second generation Ertiga, as well.

New Rear Bumper Complements the Aggressive Look

The new rear bumper has a bold look that complements the aggressive front end of the Maruti XL6. The faux skid plate adds to the sporty feel and gels perfectly with the plastic cladding. Thus, the posterior of the Maruti XL6 is entirely different from that of its donor model.

Another aspect that differentiates the Maruti XL6 from the Ertiga is the use of the Nexa dealership to market this vehicle. The Nexa Chain of Premier dealerships has already proved their worth by successfully selling brands like the Baleno, S-Cross, Ciaz, and Ignis.

On the coming 21st August, India will see a new car on the roads that promise to reinvent the definition of luxury. The whole of India eagerly waits for this model to hit the streets.
