The list starts with our very own homegrown DC Avanti sports car. The cheapest and the newest of the lot, the DC Avanti is the first-ever sports car of India and is developed and manufactured by DC Design. The company is owned by famous designer Dilip Chabaria who is known for giving a lifestyle touch to existing vehicles. His first production vehicle is the Avanti sports car that is powered by a 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine borrowed from Ford. It might not be the fastest car in the lot, but it surely can give you a thrill like other sports cars. Also, priced close to Rs 35 lakh, it's almost half the price of the next sports car in the list.

Audi TT

Price - Rs 60.34 Lakh

The next car in our list is an established name in the 2-seater sports car market and is worth every penny you spend on the it. The Audi TT is in its third generation now and offers a 2+2 seating configuration, the rear 2 seat ideal for kids only. It is powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI engine in India, that can channelize 230 horses and 370 Nm of torque. Audi added the trademark Virtual Cockpit and Matrix head lights to the new TT and gave it a sleek and aerodynamically superior design. If you are not interested in the DC Design Avanti, the Audi TT is the best machine you can buy at this price point.

Ford Mustang

Price - Rs 65 Lakh

Here is one of the most iconic and famous cars of all time, the Ford Mustang. Popularly called the Pony car, the Ford's Mustang is counted among the world's most famous muscle cars, but its engine gives it a sports car ability. Ford Mustang is the latest car to be launched in India at a mouth-watering price of Rs 65 lakh and is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 motor that produces a massive 401 hp power and 515 Nm of torque. Given the size of its engine, it's the cheapest car on basis of Rs/litre in India. And for that money, you will get a car, that will turn every head on the road.

BMW Z4

Price - Rs 77.50 Lakh

One of the first sports car to be launched in India, the BMW Z4 happens to be an age-old car and is eyeing a replacement worldwide. One of the most intimidating looking car, the BMW Z4 attracted the buyers for its sheer low hanging coupe inspired looks with a long hood design. Priced for Rs 77.50 lakh, the Z4 initially attracted buyers, but with growing competition, its sales declined to almost negligible and soon BMW will replace it with the Z5. It is powered by a 3.0-litre motor churning out 306PS of power and 400 Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG 43

Price - Rs 77.50 Lakh

Last but not the least is the erstwhile SLK sports coupe from another big-shot from Germany - Mercedes Benz. The Mercedes-Benz SLC shouldn't be on this list as it's a normal coupe and not performance machine. But thanks to the Mercedes, the 2-seater car is available only with the AMG engine in India and being AMG powered car means, it can compete with any sports car on the planet. The SLC is powered by a 3.0-litre bi-turbo six cylinder engine that produces and impressive 367bhp of power and 520 Nm of torque. Good thing is, the SLC is a convertible too and you can use it for a track day, as well as a leisure drive.
