The Indian automobile industry has matured a lot in the past of couple of years. And as a result, most of the car manufacturers who never saw India as a serious market, now want to make an official debut in the country. While many brands like the Maserati, Datsun and Ferrari have succeeded to do so, many are still struggling and contemplating the option. We, on the other hand, hope that few more brands make their debut in India.
This is a story of 5 such brands, which we would love to see in India!
One of the most renowned off-roader manufacturer, the Jeep shot into fame as early as 1944, when they started manufacturing 4*4 vehicles for the U.S Army. Known as GP (general purpose vehicle), the Jeep slang came into existence soon. Jeep is currently owned by the FCA (Fiat-Chrysler Alliance) and most of the sale happens in the U.S. Fiat has already promised to officially bring the SUV manufacturer to India sometime next year, and we can't wait to see Wrangler wrangle our streets.
Germany and luxury car manufacturers are so synonymous that we tend to ignore other brands. And if this was not enough, this brand had to rise from a country which has never produced any luxury car in the history. Lexus is the brand we are talking about, the luxury manufacturing arm of the world's largest car manufacturer Toyota. And no we don't need the luxury cars in India, we need the stunning RC-F and LFA performance cars.
If it's Italian, it has to be stylish! Alfa Romeo is one of the most sought after name in the motorsports circuit and no we are not exaggerating. Scuderia Ferrari, father of Ferrari actually started the racing team under Alfa Romeo race division. But we are not asking for the Romeo for its performance, we need it for the looks. Just check the 4C and Giulia to know how good they look!
Citroen, the French automaker happens to be the first mass car producer outside the U.S. Not only this, Citroen is also known to be one of the best car manufacturer to participate in Motorsports, winning three different championships from FIA. Why do we need it in India? Well, the brand specializes in manufacturing hatchbacks and that too very fast hatchbacks, ones India desperately needs!
First things first, McLaren automotive and McLaren racing division are separate entities, although they started under the same group. While the latter specializes in race cars and compete in Formula 1, the earlier is known to manufacture flashy and gorgeous road-legal sports cars. They started by producing world's fastest street legal car; the McLaren F1 (irony?) and now produces a limited number of sportscar, owned by some of the biggest personalities on the planet Earth.
