A lot happens during the festival season in India, a period from September to November every year. Reason being, Indians consider the festival season as an auspicious time to purchase something, and automobiles are generally up on their list. This gives an ample reason to the car manufacturers and this is why most number of launches are seen during this time of the year.
And so we compiled a list of top 5 cars launching this festival season.
Expected Price: Rs 3-4 Lakh
India, as a market, is dominated by hatchbacks, and a rightly priced product with better features and robust build quality takes no time to gather momentum here. In a hope to make a big name in the hatchback segment, the French automaker, Renault will be launching the Kwid entry level hatch in the country during the festival season. Renault Kwid will be powered by a newly developed 800cc engine will come with first-in0segment navigation system. And all this for a price of Rs 3-4 Lakh makes it a credible and a product to look out for.
Expected Price: Rs 4.5-7.0 Lakh
In many senses, the Figo hatchback was the product that helped Ford, the American automaker establish a strong foothold in the Indian automobile markets. And while Ford has updated the Figo hatch a couple of times, none had been a major update. This festive season, Ford will launch the all-new Ford Figo, also known as the 'Ka' hatch in the Brazilian markets. The Figo hatchback looks more or less like the already launched Aspire sedan, sans the boot and will also carry forward the cabin design from the Aspire. Expect the Figo hatchback to be priced around Rs 4.5 Lakh.

The MPV/MUV segment has a huge potential in a country like India, where cost effectiveness is a big challenge for manufacturers. And if you are able to put 7 seats in a car under Rs 10 Lakhs, it is out become a success, especially when Maruti Suzuki produces it. The Ertiga from Maruti is one such vehicle which gained much success and sells in good numbers, though, not as much as the Toyota Innova. And now Maruti is ready with the facelifted version of the MPV with added chrome and new features.

There are AMGs, M-Series' and Nismos and then there are Abarths. When it comes to performance division, Fiat owned Abarth has made a lot of name for itself and now they are ready with their Indian innings. After launching the 595 Competizione in the country, Fiat is ready with the Punto Abarth, based on the Punto hatchback. And why are we excited? Because the machine will give us 100+bhp in under Rs 10 Lakhs and characteristics of an Abarth.
Expected Price: Rs 22-25 Lakh
Chevrolet India might not be as successful as other Amercian counterparts in India, but they are gearing up for a slew of launches in the coming years to come. And to the start the proceedings, Chevrolet India will first launch the Trailblazer SUV in the country to compete against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. While the Captiva wasn't able to create much impact in the local markets, only the time will tell how successful this SUV will be in India!
