The festive season is just around the corner and the manufacturers are gearing up to launch some of the most anticipated cars of the year. Reason being, the festive season, specially the occasion of Diwali is considered auspicious to buy something big and new, and cars are one among them. People wait all year long to buy the car of their choice and OEMs leave no stone unturned to provide them with their dream car.
Here's a list of top 5 cars that are launching during the Festive Season!
This goes without saying, but Renault Kwid has proved to be the biggest launch in the last couple of years. While sales numbers are one thing, it actually managed to rattle the market share of the largest selling car in India - the Maruti Suzuki Alto. Riding high on the success of the Kwid 0.8-litre, Renault launched the bigger 1.0-litre Kwid and now they are planning to launch the Kwid AMT this festive season. No point guessing whom they are after!
Tata Motors is one manufacturer who doesn't like to listen 'No'. What we are trying to say is, Tata Motors was the first manufacturer to avail the government's tax benefits by launching a sub 4-metre compact sedan, the Tata Indigo eCS. It was not that big of a hit and hence, Tata Motors launched the Zest sedan, based on the Bolt hatchback. Again, it couldn't garner the attention of the buyers. And now, Tata is again ready with a compact sedan, their 3rd in the line. The Kite 5 sedan will be launched during the festive season and is based on the successful Tiago hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki specializes in launching vehicles during occasions, and Diwali seems to be their favourite one. No wonder they are the largest car manufacturer in India with the biggest car portfolio, catering to middle class customers. Their newest product to annihilate the competition is the Ignis hatchback, that promises to be something different. The hatchback has a tall-boy design which will give it much needed space and also comes with all the latest gadget and gizmos.
While Toyota was initially reluctant to launch the all-new Fortuner in India, given the 2.0-litre diesel engine ban, they are now ready to launch the product in the coming festive reason. The return of the SUV can be attributed to the Supreme Court's order that vehicles above 2.0-litre have to pay a one-time green tax. Also, the new Innova has taken-off really well and despite its initial ban in Delhi-NCR, one of the biggest market for Innnova, it managed to sell 9000 odd vehicles in a month. We can't wait to see the mighty SUV plying on the Indian roads.
Lastly, it's the Grand i10 that will receive a facelift in India, a much needed one. The Hyundai Grand i10 fills the gap between the Elite i20 and the i10 hatchbacks and hence, is a popular choice among the buyers. Moreover, with an extensive list of features, good price range and an optional automatic gearbox, Grand i10 deserve a second look. But it has been ages since Hyundai first launched the Grand and till now, no major change has been done to the hatchback. Wait for the festive season to get hands on the updated Hyundai Grand i10.
