Indian bike market has seen entries of many new motorcycles in the recent time. The majority of the bike manufacturers including Bajaj, TVS and Hero are concentrating for venturing in the bigger bike segment. While other automakers such as Honda and Suzuki are making their presence felt in small segment bikes like never before. We have made a compilation of the best 5 worthy bikes that you can buy today and yes they won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

1.       Suzuki Gixxer SF

The Suzuki Gixxer SF is the faired version of the famous naked Gixxer 150 by Suzuki. The bike has been designed very nicely as it gets full body fairing along with Suzuki MotoGP race livery that makes it one of the best looking faired motorcycles of its segment. On the inside, it shares its 154cc single-cylinder, Air-cooled engine as seen on its naked cousin. The engine delivers 14.8bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission. The bike features disc brakes both at the front and at the rear as well. Talking about the price, the Suzuki Gixxer MotoGP edition with rear disc brake is priced at Rs 98,703 (On-Road, Delhi).

2.       Bajaj Avenger  

This bike has been around for almost a decade now and it has surely been the most famous product by Bajaj Auto after Pulsar. Over the time, Avenger has gone through quite a few transformations, most of them being in terms of new paint schemes. The core design of the bike has remained same over the years while it was upgraded from the initial 180cc to present 220cc and 150cc powerhouse. Currently, it is offered in two versions, the Cruise 220 and the Street 220/150. There is one more variant present which is Cruise 220 Desert Gold Edition. The price of the bike starts from Rs 76,989 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) for Street 150 and extends up to Rs 87,331 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi, for Cruise 220.

3.       Honda CB Hornet 160R

Honda CB Hornet 160R is one of the latest bikes in this list. It has been almost one year since its launch and within this time, the bike has attracted a lot of eyeballs around the country. Previous 150cc motorcycles by Honda like the Unicorn and CB Trigger didn’t quite have the kind of exclusive, muscular design as the CB Hornet. Also, Honda has launched a dedicated smartphone app for the bike to book the same at utmost convenience. The bike directly competes with Suzuki naked Gixxer 150 as both carry similar aggressive design, features, and engine. 4.       Hero Splendor iSmart 110

Recently Hero Splendor has dethroned, Honda Activa once again to become the highest selling two-wheeler in the Indian auto market. Splendor has been around for the longest time compared to any other bike in this category and will probably stick around longer than others. The Splendor iSmart 110 is the smarter version of the same. It comes with modern features like semi-digital meter console, Hero’s patented i3S technology, electric start and tubeless tires as well. The bike is already easy to maintain thanks to its high fuel economy, cheap and easy availability of spare parts and rugged body that made it one of the most trusted motorcycles in the market. 5.       Yamaha FZ FI Ver 2.0

The Japanese automaker revolutionized the Indian motorcycle market with the launch of the FZ16 back in the year 2008. The bike still sells in our market with tiny changes done mainly in the visual part. With years, Yamaha has introduced new features like fuel injection, new meter console, updated graphics, and design. While the engine still remains the basic 149cc Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine that churns out 13.1bhp of maximum power and 12.8Nm of peak torque. The Yamaha FZ FI Ver 2.0 is seriously one of the nicest bikes to buy if your budget doesn’t allow you to jump above Rs 1 lakh range. It is priced at Rs 80,196 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
