Top bikes at EICMA 2017 - Part 2

The world’s most famous motorcycle show, EICMA has officially wrapped up on an exciting note for 2017. A few days back we brought you a report of the topmost bikes unveiled at this year’s EICMA show and now we are back with an extension of the same.

Ducati Panigale V4:

The Bologna-based Italian superbike making company, Ducati has taken the EICMA show by storm and its new Panigale V4 superbike is clearly the center staged bike in this year’s show. After years of development and research, the company has introduced its brand new 4-cylinder, mass production motorcycle to the world. The new Panigale V4 gets the Stradale V4 engine which holds a very special place in the Ducati timeline as it will power Ducati’s first ever 4-cylinder mass produced bike. Panigale V4 will be offered in three trims namely the base Panigale V4, V4S and V4 Speciale.  

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650:

Royal Enfield showcased its new twin-cylinder 650cc fuel injected engine and a day later it unveiled two new motorcycles based on the same twin-cylinder engine. The company has been working on this new twin unit for more than 3 years now, as we were the first ones to get you exclusive images of this middle-weight twin powerhouse back in 2015. These new bikes will make it to the Indian market very soon and expect to shell out around Rs 4 lakh on the same. With the launch of the new Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, the company aspires to become a world leader in the middle-weight motorcycles segment.

Expected launch in India: Q2 2018.

Honda CB1000R 2018:

The company has unveiled the new generation 2018 CB1000R at the EICMA show. This new bike will be replacing the current CB1000R around the world and will make it to the Indian market as well. The bike gets a complete makeover in terms of visuals as now the new bike is more of a neo-retro street naked machine rather than the just the standard naked bike. The bike gets completely reworked panels, round headlamp, single-sided swingarm, shorter tail tidy and much more.

Talking about the engine it gets a 998cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, in-line four engine. This engine delivers impressive 145bhp at 10,5000rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. In terms of feature, it packs a more modern electronics package that helps in making the ride better.

The company says that the bike gets improved engine performance thanks to the new 4:2:1 exhaust system. It gets new ECU system for better throttle control, it gets four-rider throttle responses of Standard, Sport, Rain, and User. The bike also comes with a fly-by-wire throttle, traction control, and ABS.

Ducati Scrambler 1100:

The Italian bike company, Ducati tasted huge success around the world with the launch of the new Scrambler a few years back and now the company has come up with a new bigger Scrambler. The Scrambler 1100 will be offered in not one but three different models including the Scrambler 1100 Standard, Sport, and Special. As the name suggests, the Scrambler 1100 Standard will be the base model and the most affordable one. With the Scrambler Special, you’ll get fancy gray paint, gold forks, a different handlebar, a brushed swingarm, and a brown seat. While the Sport will show off a bunch of premium equipment such as Öhlins suspension, aluminum wheels, a special handlebar and custom trim on the seat.

Expected launch in India: Q3 2018

Arch Motorcycles:

If you are a bike fanatic then there is no chance that you haven’t heard about Keanu Reeves co-founded Arch Motorcycles. The US-based motorcycle making company has been manufacturing ultra-premium motorbikes from quite some time now and at the EICMA this year the company decided to showcase three of their highly premium products including KRGT-1, Arch 1s and Arch Method 143. As the company stated, these are exotic sports cruiser designed to be utmost comfortable for long rides and super exciting to ride at a test track.
