TVS Apache RTR 200 caught testing
Snapshot: The bike in the images look like a production ready version and it does have some major changes from the current Apache series of motorcycles.
Hosur best auto-maker is in talks for its new product (from a long time now), the company will soon be launching its 200cc Apache RTR for the very first time. The bike has been caught testing several times now and finally a clear set of pictures has been posted by our friends at Motoroids.com. The bike in the images look like a production ready version and it does have some major changes from the current Apache series of motorcycles.
The new Apache 200 look promising, it is equipped with high raised matte-black handle-bar, a sleek headlight, monoshock suspension at the rear and front has still not been upgraded with the USDs. To give the bike a racier stance, the back portion has been lifted and bike has been equipped with split seats.
We are impressed with the fully digitised meter console on the bike that displays the engine rpm, gear engaged, time, service reminder, speed, fuel level, odometer and trip meter. It lights up in white as soon as the key is turned on. We also expect the console to display a lap-timer and top-speed recorder like the one on current Apache motorcycles. The bike utilizes a newly built 200cc single cylinder unit, expected to churn out near 24bhp. The bike will fare against bikes like KTM 200 Duke and Bajaj Pulsar RS200. We think it might be a little late on TVS part to come up with a 200cc as the competition is already on the stiffer side. When launched it should be priced anywhere around INR 1 Lakh to 1.30 Lakh.
