TVS Confirms launch of New Victor and a Premium High-Power bike in 2015
Snapshot: After a great Sales year in 2014, TVS is all ready to bring the All new Victor and a High-Power Premium Bike!!!
TVS has had a spectacular sales year in 2014 and that has led to TVS rethinking its new product launch timeline in the country. According to a report on the Business Standard, TVS has postponed its launches by a quarter owing to good sales performance of recently-launched products. Products like the Scooty Zest, Star City+ and Jupiter have helped in increasing the company’s market share, K N Radhakrishnan, president and chief executive officer, told the publication.
Going further this year, TVS will launch two new products in the first two quarters of 2015. We reckon the all new TVS Victor will be the first to launch and it will further help TVS in strengthening its presence and market share in the commuter bike segment. Though, what has got us more interested is the news that TVS finally is waking up to fight in the high-performance bike segment which is undergoing staggering growth in terms of new model launches and market share. This lucrative segment is something that TVS can no longer ignore. TVS has said that they will be bringing a high-power premium bike into the Indian motorcycle market in 2015 and for sure it is indeed going to be the all new range of the highly capable Apache series that needs a desperate update to keep its fame alive.
The stunning Draken X21 concept from the AutoExpo 2014 should be inspiring the new Apache range and we are expecting it to be at least 250cc unit with specifications closer to the Draken concepts. Though we need to remember that the TVS-BMW 's first jointly developed bike has gone into testing and it should be priced at a performance and price premium to the new Apache's, in turn taking a leaf out of the incredibly successful KTM-Bajaj collaboration in India and abroad. On the other hand the real volume bringer will be the all new Victor, which is expected to be powered by the same 110 cc engine that does duty on the Star City+. Though a 125 cc variant may follow at a later stage, the 110 cc model will be pitted against the likes of the Hero Splendor and the updated Honda Dream Neo.
