TVS dethrones Bajaj Auto from third place
Snapshot: TVS recorded a healthy 23 per cent growth in terms of motorcycle sales, on the contrary scooter sales remained constant.
The Hosur based auto manufacturing firm, TVS Motor Company has grabbed an over-all 3rd position in the two-wheeler industry of the country beating Bajaj Auto. The company sold over 2.06 lakh units of two-wheelers in the month of July this year.
Even though the Pune based automaker, Bajaj Auto registered 20 per cent overall growth but a steep decline in terms of total exports trembled the cumulative growth figures for Bajaj Auto. Though, even TVS recorded a similar dip in terms of total exports but the declinations was not as serious as in the case of Bajaj Auto. The declined export figures can be straight linked with the slowdown of African and Latin American markets.
TVS recorded a healthy 23 per cent growth in terms of motorcycle sales, on the contrary scooter sales remained constant. TVS Jupiter has been a serious hit when it comes to scooter market space, while TVS Star City and Victor are one of the most famous commuter segment motorcycles from TVS.
