Update - Yamaha giving ABS to Indonesian R25 in 2015!
Snapshot: Yamaha has decided to honour the unprecedented and unimaginable love Indonesia has giving to the new YZF-R25!!
Our beloved Spidey once famously said: "with great power comes great responsibility" . We love the Spidey guy at Bikeportal, and we have improvised a bit to quote "with great power comes great power slides", but on the hindsight if you are not respectful enough to the power, a nasty high side or a comforting but satisfyingly bruising low side, is well just round the corner. So there you go, fact and suggestion of the day right there, inspired by the sweet sorry lad spreading webs around the city.
All this Hebrew aside, Yamaha has decided to honour the unprecedented and unimaginable love Indonesia has giving to the new YZF-R25. We say, with specifications like 249cc parallel twin, 36bhp and 22Nm, this stunningly gorgeous quarter litre bike from Yamaha deserved the ABS from the beginning itself.

According to reports from Otonity.com, an Indonesian blog, demand for the ABS-equipped model has been so high in its origin country that YIMM is now considering selling it in Indonesia too. According to a direct quote from Mohammad Masykur, Assistant General, Marketing, YIMM will start manufacturing the Indonesian Yamaha YZF-R25s equipped with ABS in the first half of 2015. Demand for the R25 has been so high in Indonesia that YIMM has been forced to cut down on its export numbers, a predicament all manufacturers would only be too happy to find themselves in.
Then there’s the bigger sibling, the Yamaha YZF-R3 that was recently showcased at the AIMExpo in Los Angeles. Destined mostly for European and American markets, the R3 shares the same components as the R25 but it is still unclear which markets will be getting which version. However, we are pretty certain, we will be getting the R3 in India as it will be priced above RC390 and below its main International rival, the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
