Time and again automobile companies try their hands on doing something new, achieving something extra-ordinary and reaching to a level, no one has done before. The constant pursuit to be the best and beat the rest has given our industry some brilliant machines in the past. Be it Buggatti Veyron for touching that 400kmph mark first or be it Koenigsegg one:1, the only production car with power to weight ratio of 1kg/HP.
But the thing is, we are lucky enough to be born in a time where we can see the best of both worlds, Hydrocarbon powered vehicles and Electric powered vehicles. One such exemplary vehicle is the Jaguar C-X75. Although the vehicle never saw the light of the day as a production vehicle, we certainly hope that it will do one day. They originally had a plan to launch 250 numbers of limited cars in 2013, but global recession and high production cost stopped the project.
Jaguar C-X75 is a two seater, hybrid- electric concept car which debuted in Paris motor show, 2010. The plug in hybrid is powered by 4 electric motors for each wheel, producing an astonishing 778HP, each motor being 145kw (194hp). Talking about the performance, this car can do 0-100kmph in 3.4 secs with a top speed reaching upto 330kmph. The car had a range of going 100kms in one single charge. The material used for building the car was all aerospace inspired.
As said earlier, we hope that this vehicle will come into production version soon. Although priced at $1.2million, Jaguar got it right to produce only 250 numbers. Watch this beautiful video here, explaining how this could change the automotive world forever.
