Grand i10 has been one of hottest selling hatch in the country and Hyundai has just given it a makeover. It’s not a new car and neither is the makeover too radical. Offering lots of features has been the Grand i10’s key to success and it now offers even more of them. So what does the new car offer and is it ready to take on the competition? We take a look
7-inch infotainment system
The Navigation unit found on most cars these days isn’t surely a passing fad, and the Grand i10 has finally caught up with the rest in that department and offers one now. You also get a 7-inch touch screen that integrates Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirroLink technologies. The unit also doubles up as a display for reverse park assistance. The sport variant offers a 5-inch display unit for audio system that does not offer rest if the features.

1.2 litre diesel engine
The only chink in the Grand i10’s armour was the somewhat weak 1.1-litre diesel unit, which has now been replaced with a more powerful 1.2 litre oil burner. The unit puts out a healthy 75PS of power and 190Nm of torque. Refinement levels are great and efficiency is expected to be around 24kmpl. The petrol motor remains untouched and offers a choice of 5-speed MT and 4-speed AT.
Stylish alloy wheels
On the outside, new design diamond cut alloy wheels do a good job of jazzing up the exteriors. Size remains unchanged (165/65 R14) and hence the supple ride quality for which the Grand i10 is almost a benchmark in this category. Lower variants, Magna and Sportz get full size wheel covers.

Updated face and rear
The face now bears a new grille and a redesigned bumper that houses DRLs alongside the fog lamps. Side profile is intact. However, the rear bumper gets two-tone treatment. The black element of the bumper incorporates twin reflectors at the opposing ends, making it visually different than the outgoing car.
Fully automatic temperature control
The Grand i10 has an edge over the others, while it offers the rear AC vents. Most other cars in this segment do not offer it. In terms of comfort, the car moves the game even further ahead by offering a fully automatic temperature control. So all you need to do is set the temperature and forget it.
