Over the years, India has become a hub for all the motorcycle manufacturers from around the world. Almost every major manufacturer has entered Indian market as there are still many unexplored segments which need to be looked upon. Just like all other segments, Indian masses are slowly turning their head towards off-roading also. Hero Motocorp. launched Impulse few years back but as it lacked power, Hero has to replace its engine with the Karizma’s one. And we might get to witness the launch of a more powerful Impulse by the middle of next year.
Apart from Hero, the Austrian premium brand, KTM, might also come up with an off-roader by late 2016 or 2017. There is one more brand which is looking seriously into this segment of motorcycles, according to the reports, Yamaha Motors India has been testing the Lander 250 XTZ from quite some time now and the same has been spied during the test runs. But does that mean, we can expect something similar from the brand? The answer is, yes we can. 250 XTZ is powered from a 250cc single-cylinder engine with fuel-injection, it produces around 21bhp of maximum power and 21Nm of peak torque, the engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
