Aprilia SR 150 Overview
Aprilia, the exotic Italian brand is known for making world-class superbikes such as RSV4 and Tuono 1100 V4 RR. The brand showcased the SR150 scooter at the Autoexpo 2016 and revealed its plans of launching it in the Indian market by mid-2016. When launched, the company was able to price it sensibly for the Indian market due to the reason that it is a made-in-India product and is sold by Piaggio via its exclusive Motoplex dealerships spread all across India. SR150 is India’s first moto-scooter which offers sporty performance unlike any other scooter present in the Indian market. It clearly focuses on performance than comfort or practicality.
Aprilia SR 150 Engine & Transmission
The scooter packs 154.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled powertrain pushing out 11.4bhp at 7,000rpm and 11.5Nm at 5,500rpm that has been carried over from the Vespa range of scooters. On the other hand, the scooter comes with a CVT transmission for hassle-free city ride. The company claims a top speed of 95km/hr. The engine, unlike many premium scooters, is a carburetted unit and fuel injection is missing on the SR150. The fuel tank on the scooter can hold up 7 liters of fuel when brimmed to the top.
Aprilia SR 150 Mileage
Talking about the fuel consumption, the scooter returns an overall 43km/ltr of mileage.
Aprilia SR 150 Braking & Safety
It has a very sporty, sleek and unique design unlike other scooters in the Indian market. The scooter is equipped with 14-inch black alloy wheels which add to the sporty appeal of the scooter. At the front, it carries a 220mm disc while a 140 mm disc takes care of the braking duties at the rear. It comes with a meter console that consists of the twin pod analogue unit for speedometer, Fuel Gauge, and odometer. Its double-barrel headlight unit sits at the front nose panel for wider spread and visibility. The suspension duties on the Aprilia SR150 are performed by hydraulic telescopic front fork suspension and single arm suspension at the rear. Other features on the scooter also include an under seat USB connector to charge a phone.
