Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Overview
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is the elder sister of the Pulsar 220F and the fully-faired version of the Pulsar NS200. Pulsar RS200 produces more power and the almost same amount of peak torque as the Pulsar 220F. But it is the handling where the RS200 shines over the 220F. Bajaj introduced the perimeter frame with this motorcycle and due to this, the RS200 is fun even in the twisties. The engine is all-new as per Bajaj and they have worked extensively for an improved low-end and more exciting top-end in the rev-range.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Styling & Comfort
The styling like this is never been seen on any Bajaj motorcycle. At first, the styling of the Pulsar RS200 looks a bit too busy. However, the new graphics blend perfectly with the body panels of the motorcycle. The front houses twin projector headlamps with twin LED pilot lamps and a big windscreen to deflect the air from the rider on the highways so that the wind-blast can be reduced. The side profile comes with full-fairing which consists of many panels aiding in aerodynamics. The muscular fuel tank with low rider seat, short yet smart exhaust and coloured front rim enhance the side profile of the Pulsar RS200. The conventional grab rails have been replaced for some cleverly placed area in the tail section for the pillion to hold on. At the rear, you get an LED taillamp without a mudguard and a fat rear tyre for that sports bike appeal. The rider gets a semi-digital instrument console surrounded by faux carbon-fibre. The centre place is taken by an analogue tachometer with a digital readout for fuel-gauge and an RPM limit light at the top. Towards the right, you get a digital speedometer which is backlit in blue colour. The left section houses the tell-tale lights.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Performance and Handling
The handling of the Pulsar RS200 shines due to the perimeter frame and stiffly sprung suspension which enhances the cornering abilities. The bike may feel a little bit on the stiff side for daily commutes but Bajaj has done this in the favour of riding dynamics. The comfortable riding position is not too aggressive on the rider's body and the person will feel comfortable while riding.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 What we think
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be liked by those who want a sporty looking and a fully-faired motorcycle. The motorcycle delivers decent mileage and offers a comfortable riding position for daily commutes. The handling of the RS200 is something that we have never seen on any motorcycle from Bajaj. The huge service network and reliability is just a cherry on top.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Mileage
As per ARAI, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 mileage can be around 35kmpl. However, if you ride any motorcycle aggressively it will fail to deliver good mileage.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Engine & Transmission
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 specs come with a liquid-cooled engine which produces a max power output of 24.5PS @ 9,750 and a peak torque output of 18.6Nm @ 8,000rpm. The rev-happy engine is mated to a slick-shifting 6-Speed manual gearbox. The engine also features Bajaj’s patented Triple-Spark 4-Valve DTS-i technology which increases the efficiency of the combustion.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Braking & Safety
Braking duties are handled by discs in the front and at the rear. The front features a 300mm disc while at the rear you get a 230mm disc. Bajaj also offers Single-Channel Anti-lock Braking System(ABS) to enhance the braking capability of the Pulsar RS200.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Competitors
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 competes with Yamaha YZF R15 V3, KTM RC 200 and Suzuki Gixxer 250.
