Bajaj Pulsar Overview

Bajaj Auto, the India's second largest motorcycle company has recorded successful sales record with its Pulsar series. The motorcycles have been manufactured by the product engineering division of Bajaj Auto in association with Tokyo R&D and motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr.The successive motorcycles in this Bajaj Pulsar series includes with engine capacities of 135 cc, 150 cc, 180 cc, 200 cc, and 220 cc. In recent times, the Pulsar series has received non-stop upgrades, which definitely grab the attention of million bikers in the country. These Pulsar series is the most successful of all series of bikes and the best performers in India. The Pulsar brand has achieved many awards until now.

Bajaj Pulsar Engine & Transmission

There are many competitors racing in the premium bike segment in India. At the Auto Expo 2014, the home grown two-wheeler has showcased its Pulsar SS400, where SS stands for Super Sport. The 400cc monster houses a 4 stroke, liquid-cooled, 375cc engine with a 6 speed transmission. This bike offers a sporty feel with large visor and newly designed twin headlamps.The engine using the electronic fuel injection and it is capable to generate a power of 40bhp.In the same event, the company has unveiled its concept bike Bajaj Pulsar CS400 , which is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, water-cooled mill. This engine is mated with a 6-speed constant mesh and produces a maximum power of 40bhp and a peak torque of 32Nm.The Bajaj Pulsar 375 and Bajaj Pulsar 220 Dtsi are two more monsters in its Pulsar top end lineup. The 220 DTSi is available in two marvelous technologies like the DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) and the ExhausTEC. It is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 220cc DTS-i engine that generates 0.75bhp of power at 8500rpm and a peak torque of 19.12Nm at 7000rpm. While, the Pulsar 375 powered with Triple Spark, SOHC, 4-Valve mill with 375 cc displacement. The low end segment is completed ruled by the Pulsar 200 NS, Pulsar 180cc, Pulsar 180ns,150cc Dtsi and Pulsar 135. Even it comes with low end features and price; these series of bike are good in terms of braking and handling.

Bajaj Pulsar Mileage

Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-I renders a mileage of 48.4 kmpl, while Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I and Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTS-I offers 45.0 kmpl and 38.3 kmpl respectively. On the other hand, Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi comes with a handsome fuel efficiency of 35.0 kmpl, with Bajaj Pulsar 250 DTSFi offering a mileage of 25.0 kmpl.

Bajaj Pulsar Performance and Handling

Bajaj Pulsar CS400 claims to deliver a top speed of about 130kmph. The bike will provide premium braking system and fuel tank capacity of 15 liter. Bajaj built their products with sophisticated technologies, which ensure a balance between torque and power. The 200NS is incorporated a liquid-cooled, single cylinder, 4-valve SOHC 199.5cc petrol mill working with the three spark-plugs.
