Benelli BX 250 Overview
The Italian company, DSK Benelli has been operating in the country with a few variants on the roll. And now, at the Auto Expo 2016, the company has introduced a rugged off-roading bike in the supermoto segment named BX 250 specially targeted at the adventure freaks. The bike drives on a single cylinder 249.2cc petrol powertrain mated to a six speed transmission gearbox. The suspension system comprising of 50mm upside down forks with 250mm of travel at the front wheel and a progressive link type monoshock with 110mm of travel at the rear wheel absorbs shocks from the surface keeping the rider(s) comfortable. BX 250 boasts of a length of 2230mm, a width of 860mm, a height of 1210mm, and wheelbase of 1450mm, and sports an overall slender frame to enhance its off-roading capability. Its remarkable ground clearance of 250mm will keep it high enough to avoid being splashed with dirt, water and other objects. The motorad can ride roughshod over any kind of terrain courtesy its 17 inches Aluminium alloy wheels laced with 100/80-ZR17 front tyres and 130/70-ZR17 rear tyres, and could be brought to a sudden halt by applying 280mm disc brakes at the front and 240mm disc brakes at the rear, respectively. BX 250 is arguably the first in its segment and doesnвЂ™t have any competition, as of yet. Design wise, the bike assumes simplest of styling cues such as a raised mudguard, a sleek fairing, a slim fuel tank of 7 litres, and a slender tail fitted with a conical shaped tail lamp and a raised exhaust (with catalytic converter). The front is embodied by a sleek headlamp placed before an instrument cluster that is studded with an array of analog gauges. To augment the safety aspect, the wheels are equipped with twin piston floating callipers. BX 250 colours is in shades of all white, which makes it all the more fetching.
Benelli BX 250 Engine and Transmission
BX 250 specifications include a single cylinder 4 stroke 4 valves liquid cooled DOHC based petrol powertrain proffering a displacement of 249.2cc. The electric / kick start engine garners a maximum power figure of 25.2PS at 9000rpm and a peak torque of 21.5Nm at 7500rpm. As the engine is a fuel injected one, the throttle is much more refined and crisper, and comes mated to a six speed manual transmission gearbox that transfers torque to the rear wheels through a chain led mechanism and operable by an oil bath clutch.
