BMW G310R Overview
BMW Motorrad is one of the most acclaimed premium high-performance bike manufacturers in the world and considering the fact that Indian buyers are showing keen interest towards high-end bikes, the German brand wants to grab a large chunk of the market here. In this attempt, one of the most interesting products from the brand is going to be the BMW G310R that was already showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.
Another interesting fact about BMW G310R is that it is being produced locally in India at the Hosur plant of TVS Motors, under the collaboration of the Indian brand and BMW Motorrad. Now, speaking about its design, the naked streetfighter comes with a sporty and aggressive stance. It gets an inverted delta shaped powerful headlamp, a fully digital premium instrument cluster. The sleek LED turn indicators add more style to the bike. It features a sculpted-looking muscular fuel tank with large capacity, while the tank scoops come enhancing its sportiness.
A low positioned rider seat stepped up pillion rider seat, split grab rail, a narrow tail section with sharp and sleek LED taillight enhance the visual appeal of the bike further. It runs on sporty alloy wheels. There is a higher positioned exhaust muzzle with shiny plating on it. An underbody protector shield is also there. So far, the bike looks very attractive and stylish from every angle.
BMW G310R Engine & Transmission
As we have already said, the BMW G310R comes sharing the same engine as the TVS Apache RR 310. This 312.2 cc single-cylinder, the liquid-cooled engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of churning out 33.5 bhp of peak power at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm.
BMW G310R Braking & Safety
For braking duty, BMW G310R relies on disc brakes at both front and rear wheels, while suspension duty is done by upside down front forks and multi-step adjustable mono shock absorber at the rear. To enhance safety, this bike gets dual-channel ABS as well. So far, the bike comes offering a high-quality riding experience.
BMW G310R Competitors
BMW G310R will lock horns with rivals like KTM Duke 390, Benelli TNT 25 and Kawasaki Z250.
BMW G310R Mileage
BMW G310R shares the same engine with the TVS Apache RR 310. The engine will deliver around 30 kmpl of fuel efficiency in the BMW G310R.
BMW G310R Performance and Handling
The BMW G310R has been designed and engineered to deliver smooth performance. This bike stays stable even at high speed and the turning and leaning capabilities are also very good. Apart from that, the 6-speed gearbox of the bike ensures the rider experiences a smooth acceleration. It would be capable of running at a top speed of around 145 kmph.
BMW G310R What we think
We believe, BMW G310R is going to be a very attractive model in the Indian market especially for the young customers, who seek the thrill of high-performance riding and a premium product at competitive pricing. This bike is likely to be launched here sometime later this year and it would be priced between Rs. 1.75 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
