Ducati in India

This brand first entered Indian market in the year 2008 and in fact was one of the early birds in superbike section. However, many technical marketing flaws such as ill-equipped Indian distributor and many sales related aspects, including choice of Indian partner, led to virtual halt of Ducati sales in India. After facing humiliation before Indian customers, in terms of pre-sales as well as after sales services, the Bologna based company re-entered Indian shores with its own dealership network in later part of 2013. In fact, the best superbike line-up of motorcycle companies in India is perhaps is that of Ducati’s. Some of the enchanting machines to look forward to in India includes Multistrada 1200 (potent multi-purpose adventure motorcycle), Diavel cruiser, 1199 Panigale (super-sports bike), and Monster series muscular naked bikes. 

Distinguishing Features

The advanced machines are characterized by unmistakable features such as trademark sound of the power unit, L-Twin engine, steel tubular Trellis frame, and most importantly Desmodromic valve control system. These bikes have also left their marks at various motorbike championships across the world. The bikes of the company have won 16 Manufacturers’ titles as well as fifteen out of last eighteen Riders’ titles. Association with Motorsports

The association of the company with motorsport started in the year 1951 when it entered speed records motorized bicycle factory racers of Cucciolo. It was with the participation at 100 Gran Sport, a road racing program of Fabio Taglioni, in the year 1954 participation at motorcycle competitions started. One of the interesting business models followed by Ducati is "Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday", whereby it spends €40 million or ten percent of company’s revenues on racing business. 

New Style Statement with Diesel 

Two iconic Italian brands – Ducati and Diesel – started collaborating in the year 2011 with Diesel becoming the official sponsor of Ducati Moto GP racing team that gave a new meaning to lifestyle motorcycling. Design Center of Ducati and Diesel Style Team worked closely to bring forth an urban military look to Ducati Monster 1100 EVO.
